Hi there! I am on the verge of purchasing my first neo geo AES system <throws cd system out the window, then realizing people pay good money for it, tries his best to salvage it>. I got a great deal for the system which leaves me a little spending money for 1 good game. Now, my question is....What's the best way to spend it? I have about 300 to blow on a quality game. I was thinking about KOF 2000, but from peoples reactions it doesnt seem to be that great. I really love KOF 99 but i think its pointless blowing 200 for a game i got for 30 bucks on my dreamcast. Pre-ordering Metal Slug 3 would be great, but I kind of want to play a game now and not wait for a "possible" re-release. Any suggestions?

my recomendation would be to pre-order a ms3 then pick up a Samurai Shodown 2 NGH to play until it arrives. although it would cost you a little over $300. Metal Slug 3 will be the best game to get for the money. And Samurai Shodown 2 can be picked up pretty cheap and will more then tie you over until MS3 arrives.

If by chance there is not a run of MS3 then you will have the money to spend latter. That is what I would do in your situation.

First off, the Slug 3 isn't going to come out...Don't waste your time...If you can scrape up another $50 get the Shocktroopers 2nd Squad in the Neo-Store...if expensive isn't what your nto...get a League bowling...AWESOME GAME! I'd go with Big Bruno on the SS2, its my favorite fighter on the Neo.

anyways the first
games that i got
with my system were
fatal fury 2 and fatal fury special
i would reccommend those
(i am a big FF fan)
but i would go for sam sho 2
too .. great game

Well my system that im getting is coming with Fatal Fury Special <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> Anyways, how is KOF 2000 is it worth plunking down $250 for? I've always been a big fan of KOF, and havent seen nor played the latest installment. I will buy ss2, thanks for the suggestion. I love that game!

Sam Sho 2 is a great choice. I'm selling my KOF2K after less than a full week of actually playing it.

my choice would be metal slug 3 beacause it's the best game ever produced on AES

i'd go with metal slug 3 all the way !
even if you have to borrow a few bucks to buy an expensive currently released game !!!
that game owns !!!
i keep playing it over and over
my mvs cabnet bookeeping section says that i played it 400 times this month alone <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

Well slug isn't going to be out for a while, I would save a little more and get a copy of SS2 and League Bowling to tide you over until the game is released.

KOF2000 is definitely worth the $.
I would also recommend KOF'97 and MSX. And Lord knows you cant miss with RBFF.

Or go for RBFFS (Unless FFS will tide u over).

I would buy Last Blade its a great game I should have mine soon.Another great game is KoF 97 and RBS.Currently all I have is KoF 97 soon LB and than RBS.Neo Addiction is hard to overcome.

I would pick up SS2. I just got a AES from Nikke and it came with SS2. So all I have is SS2 and I reccomend it. Since it is your 1st AES, pick up the cheap but good games and then work your way up to MS3, LB2, and MotW when you get the chance. Will they ever Rerelease MotW?

Yeah, For some reason I really want KOF 2000. Metalslug, Im getting my system from nikke too! What a great seller! I think what i might do is purchase KOF 2K now and then MS3 later. I finally got a job for the summer so ill be doing some saving! <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I recommand Kof2k as well.
Its not as bad as people saying.

i would reccomend kof2k also...i think its the best one.

im goin through the same thing...i got samsho1&2 and wh2. im thinkin about gettin some cheap games like cyber lip, ff special, blues journey, top hunter, spin masters. but i really do want kof2k...mmm or last blade 2...i cant wait for that ms3 re release, cuz if that dont happen, im never playin that game. i just cant afford it.

It's seirously better than any other game ive ever played. Trust me you need slug 3. you'll never get bored of it. Kof evolution is DC version 99 with 3D backgrounds + some of 2k features added
(eg. strikers...).

Dream Match 1999 for dreamcast is KOF 98 with improved graphics (mostly in the backgrounds). And KOF evolution is indeed KOF 99. I would recommend both to any who cant afford the neo versions, seeing as they are good conversions. One thing though, if you buy evolution get the import, because its not censored by agetec. On second thought though, supporting agetec would be nice.

Well, from the looks of it it seems that Metal Slug 3 is getting a hearty recommendation. And some supporters for KOF2K are here too. Looks like ill be spending a lot of money! <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> God i wish i made more than seven bucks an hour!

SS2 and MS3 are excellent choices.

Don't Forget to buy Neo-Addicting-Crack-on-a-Stick (read: Neo Turf Masters)

ms3 is a smart choice. if somehow you can
get MOTW , take it absolutely.
