How many official Neo Geo game can you own without owning a Neo Geo?

I've been thinking about this for a while.

First up...emulation on your computer or PSP doesn't count.

With all of the officially released compilations (Classics Vol. 1, Battle Archives etc.), Virtual Console, PSN, XBLA, etc...how many non-homebrew/prototype games would be missing without owning an original SNK console or machine? I'll allow the Neo Geo X to slide, and loop it into this grouping as a "legal" way to own the games. That takes care of a few weird ones like 3 Count, Mutation Nation, etc.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a part of a compilation. ViewPoint on the PS1 is a good example.

Let's see what we can come up with. Most gaming sites are blocked on this company intranet, and luckily this forum is not.

NGX doesn't count IMO.

Hmm... a lot of games have been ported but that only goes for the later ones, most of the earlier ones are not available as official releases AFAIK.

Like Sengoku 2, NAM, Maglord, Raguy, etc.

There were some titles released for Saturn in Japan, right? Also, an ADK and Sunsoft complilation for PS2, right?

The Sunsoft release on PS2 contained Waku and Galaxy Fight, iirc. Dunno about the SAT releases, though.

true some titles released for ps1 and saturn.

on ps2 there are 2 fatal fury complilation games, world heroes, art of fighting, samurai shodown, metal slug, kof orochi saga and snk arcad3 classics. theres also kof 2000/2001 and kof 2002/2003 combo games as well. you can get quite a bit of neo games on other system but not all of them.

Off the top of my head, Metal Slug, KOF '95-97, Sam Sho 3 and 4, Fatal Fury 3, RBFF, RBFFS and Waku Waku 7.

Also KoTM and KoTM 2 were ported to the SNES and Genesis with some differences from the Neo versions.

Irritating Maze had versions on both the N64 (JP only) and PSX (Irritating Stick), but they aren't ports of the NG version, just a similar concept.

Sengoku anthology on the ps2 is also pretty solid. Was a pal release only though.

There's a "Savage Reign" / "Kizuna Encounter" Collection for PS2, and "Galaxy Fight" as well as "Waku Waku 7" came out for Saturn.

I'm debating adding SNES and Genesis version. Might be better than nothing...

I had Waku waku 7 , Metal Slug and Real Bout FF Special on the Saturn from Japan for sure and a couple KOF's I just don't remember the years. This and the Capcom Arcade ports were what the saturn Japan was great for.

Is that more of an 'enhanced' port? I haven't touched it in years.

I like to think of it along the lines of something like 94 ReBout and 98UM - the coire game with lots of bells and whistles.
