I found a big blue street fighter 2 champion cab for a decent price. I'm new with owning cabs and wanted to ask if I find an alpha board is it pretty much a swap out of the boards?

Straight swap on the boards, both are JAMMA. The kick harness will need a CPS1 to CPS2 adapter. Xian Xi (member here) at Jamma Nation X can probably help you source one.
