Dreamcast Random Reset - did I find the "correct" fix on the net?

Hi all,

I experience random resets on my Dreamcast.
Before I unscrew my DC and get this cleaning stuff (I'm not a fin - so no 80 % alcohol in my house) - is this a known issue and can be fixed as shown in:

I bought a dreamcast of ebay which was described as having a similar issue, game would play then after a few minutes it would reset the game.

turned out it was the little black lever switch in the top right of your picture was not getting pushed back far enough, all I did was put a little electrical tape
round it to thicken it up and it has worked fine ever since

you can test it by just putting something on the lid to keep it pressed down as you start the game and let it run and this will help determine if it is this.

My cousin had a similar issue. In his case one of the large capacitors blew.

Thank you all for your Input. I opened the DC today and did the tape fix AND the pin fix (bending), caps were all good.
Had a Play of gigawing 2 for the shmup of the month for 40 mins without a reset - seems to have worked.

good to hear, nice when its something easy to fix.

I have bought a cheap Saturn and dreamcast classed as broken and all that was wrong was the lid was not closing correctly all the time
