MV1-FZ games not booting

I have a consolized 1FZ. For a short time, the audio would be a little bit quieter than normal, then get very loud for a very brief time (1-2 sec) then go back to the little quieter than normal volume. I don't know if that is related, but about a week or 2 later, I fired it up and games weren't booting.

I tried 3 different games, and no dice. No video and no start up sound. I eventually got into the UNIBIOS menu. I did a ROM check with Last Blade to test if it was a bad connector: http://i.imgur.com/bq2KP0c.png

Note the graphical glitches at the top. It read it. How long does this normally take? It took maybe 30-60 seconds for each region/rom bank to get checked. Is that normal?

Eventually, I put Last Blade back in and got to the jukebox player in UNIBIOS. I heard audio.

The UNIBIOS splash screen seemed like it was taking longer to load as well.

There was a red LED on the mobo that was flashing (I think that's normal though).

Do all of these symptoms add up to something common?

edit: I'm a moron! I accidentally put dipswitch 8 in the wrong position. Gameplay was paused.
