Rank 23/23???

In Metal slug 1st mission how the hell do you get rank 23/23 Ive played for countless hours on missions trying to earn every single point, or find every badge, argh is there somthin hidden to get it or a certian path you need to take to get it?

I'm in the same boat my man, I have played outo every mission to death, intentionally losing slugs whenever possible as well as alternating between losing and not losing them, and so far I have only attained a 22/23, which boggles the hell out of me. Sometimes, a walkthrough comes in handy because I just can't figure for the life of me where I tripped up.

Nothing hidden, just get the medals etc and you will reach rank 23. You must however play the game on the highest difficulty level otherwise you wont reach rank 23 at all.

Pardon, what's the 'etc' in the 'get the medals etc'? Is there something else I should need to pick up? I can't be absolutely sure I explored every branch, but man how hard did I try and I still have only 22/23, even on the hardest setting.
