R2, hands down.

It's the 2nd best fighting game on NGPC IMO after MotM.

KoF R-2. No question. Fantastic game. I actually own FF:1st Contact as well, it's a good game but not nearly as good as R-2.

Actually, best looking game goes to Fatal Fury first contact. They actually used the 3 color palettes to their limit in that game. Way better looking characters than any of the others, plus the ability to play as Bily Kane, Andy Bogard, an awesome Krauser and Yamazaki.

The best fighter on the NGPC is Last Blade.

I don't much like KoF R2. R1 is better.

I have to disagree! the best fighter is easily MOTM the sheer size of it, graphics wise, characters and mini games, and the easiest to get into if you just want one fighting game..if you want a 2nd then yes Last Blade comes 2nd..blatent hint now! oh I've got that on ebay! use the link below.

MotM is an excellent game. Too bad it sucks for 2 player.

The overwhelming response is gonna be KoF R2. So...

I say Fatal Fury. And here's why...

There is no game like Fatal Fury First Contact on NGPC. It's th eonly fighter like it on the system.

KOF R1, KOF R2, and even MOTM are all very similar.

If you don't have any of those games though, get R2 or MOTM. If you have MOTM or R1, get Fatal Fury for a change of pace.

It's a great fighter that sometimes gets bashed for some reason.

Well Kof R-2 and Motm are quite different games, the controls, character layout, options etc. I'd go for Kof R-2, its the best fighting game on the NGPC ala KoF 98 for the AES. You can't go wrong with it!

Fatal Fury is a totally different game, its allot of fun, but KoF just beats it, anytime anywhere.

actually, KoF R2 was a bit of a let down after KoF R1, which was a better game in terms of character selection despite the B&W palette. KoF R2 didn't have a good use of color at all. For being base on 98, it didn't offer anything worthwhile that 98 did other than Saishu, but who cares about another Kyo/Iori? They could have added Vice, Billy Kane, Blue Mary, Yamazaki, Heidern - but no. Same roster as R1 except no Chizuru or Kim - both much better characters to have than Saishu.

The ability to link the DC to NGPC for R2 was also a huge let down - just points? C'mon! I bought this on release and expected so much more. See, back then it was all a mystery regarding what you got from the DC link - people were saying you could get some hidden characters downloaded, and I'm thinking Clark or Yamazaki... Too bad I was wrong.

At least MotM lived up to the hype. KoF R2 was dead out of the stocks.

Well obviously the NGPC fighting games don't get much better when they release new ones. But KoF R-2 defenetly has better gameplay then Motm. Personally I love R-1 very much, especially becouse of the Orochi characters. But KoF R-2 is a tad better (its color), some new things added no(t) (much) new characters tough as you stated. You can play with Rugal aswell... and you can get new versions of some characters... like the Orochi Chris,Shermie and Yashiro which are wicked cool.

And ofcource the link option is very good (2player), only not with the DC.

I won't say that Rugal makes R2 worth owning... MotM had BBHood, Zangeif, Chun Li, and Bison in a proper handheld fighter - it was definitely worth owning. But since R2 offered little more than R1, and took out so much to give so little, I'll always look at it as a poor game.

Clearly, the objective was to release a KoF on the NGPC for launch purposes only. It was definitely rushed. I bought the game on release abd enjoyed it back then, but now when I try to play it it's really quite boring. Last Blade and MotM are my two most valuable fighters, but I guess they are in a different price bracket compared to the $10 bargain bin KoF R2...

omg its a bargain bin game it cant be any good.

Personally I prefer R2 as it is less of a freakshow than SvC. But I will agree that LB and SvC _are_ better looking and better presented.

even fffc. but I still _play R2 more, so I guess its down to preference. (obviously)

ok.. ignore my comments now

R2 has better gameplay.

FFFC plays as shittily as the RBFFs.

it's okay, but not "the one." Very fast, but the new character moves are too fruity.

For the record any1 who thinks I hate MOTM (if you were refering to me ltron2020) is wrong. Becouse its a great game, I've played it many many times. Just not as much as KoF R-2 ;)

I think Gals Fighters was a very origional idea for a new fighter for the NGPC, it turned out great. Come to think of it, I actually like every fighting game on it, I can't name any bad ones...

yeah, unless you count Big Bang pro wrestling, which wasn't very good. Looked like a GBC game...
