Home use CMVS Trackball - Possible?

I've been reviewing irratating maze for awhile now, and I'm interesting in getting it to work with an actual trackball. I have the MVS cart and I use it via the uni bios.

My question is can I wire a 4in trackball (non-kit) and buttons together in a custom made box or do I really need the associated kit with the trackball pcb. From what I've read, player 2 buttons are used for the track ball etc. while 1 player is left open for use. True?

Just skimmed the thread, but it seems MKL was able to get it working with a trackball.

I've always used the search feature here, and it's worked for me.

Look at who started the thread, he needed to be able to take all the credit for this so maybe he was hoping nobody would see what MKL had done.
