Ok, truthfully I've never been a huge fan of handheld systems, but I've had fun with them. And this being a Neo, well I'm curious.

Ok, is the display backlit, or is like the GBA where you have to like damage your neck trying to get proper lighting to play?

Second, what are say 5-10 of the most worthwhile games to have for the system? How are the Cardfighters Clash games??? That's one of the main reasons I want it is for both the SNK and Capcom versions.

Graphically, how are the animations of the fighters?

Thanks for any help. :)

Should I get a Neo Pocket?

The real question is, Why the hell don't you already have one?

The screen is a perfect size, and I've never had any problems seeing the screen in a well lit room.

My must own games:

Fatal Fury
Samurai Shodown II
Last Blade
Match of the Millenium (Best handheld fighter ever)
Metal Slug 1 & 2
Cardfighters Clash (incredibly fun and addictive)
Crush Roller
Sonic the Hedgehog

Biased, yep I know that for sure. :D But a lot of people on this site share the same tastes for games for the most part.

One other question, how do the games animate? Are the fighters and other games choppy or smooth?

The games animate very well, and they play a hell of a lot better, Kof feels a lot smoother and precise on the NGP than on the GBA. The graphics may be less colorful, but the animation more than makes up for it, and the feel of the play.

The lighting, i think, sucks. But that is the same for every handheld i've played execpt for the game gear, which took 6 fricken' batteries. The games are fun and the fighter's animation are fluid. My question is this, "why does everybody hate the gba?" i love my gba. i just bought Castlevania : Harmony of Dissonace on the gba, and that game rocks!!! the gba is more fit to play neo game, if you think about it. The one thing that really bugs me about the NGPC is that it has 2 buttons!! you get use to it, i guess, but when neo games start comming out for the gba, i think it is going to fit like a glove, considering it actually does have 4 buttons. But dont get me wrong, i still love my NGPC, but gba is great too.

Very smooth. And I'm not just saying that. Take MotM, for example. Stunning. It's very smooth and nothing is really missing.

The ever-important taunts are in there, too!

Trust me, the lighting on the Neo Pocket is INFINITELY better than the GBA. Nintendo waits 10 years to make a new handheld and they're too cheap to make one that people can actually see. I love both the Castlevania games on it but the first gave me a headache trying to see it.

This site has a more definite answer on the GBA's "lighting" capabilities. ;)

I've owned all the handhelds at one time or another, and one thing about the NGP is that the reflective screen makes it a lot easier to see than any other system (without backlight) in low light conditions. Batteries last a good while too!

The Neo Geo Pocket Color is the only handheld system I've ever enjoyed as much or more than my home consoles.

I love my NGPC so much, in fact, that I consider it my 2nd favorite system of all-time, next to my Dreamcast.

Don't let the dissapointment of the GBA change your mind about NGPC. It's just so great.

About. It's not backlit but it's very nice and everything comes in crystal clear. You'll have no problems. The GBA screen is PATHETIC.
