MV1B with sound buy or leave it alone

Hi Folks,
I saw an MV1B on Epay for less than 17 usd. Seller advert is about a no sound issue. I am able to change caps and modifiy it to stereo sound. Also it looks to have volume pot missing. Do you know if the no sound issue could be easily fixed or it is better to leave it alone? I mean if a no sound issue could be related to something else than caps. Let me know...

Yeah, buy it. Even if it never works for you, there's easily $17 in parts you could use in the future.

If the pot is missing, that could be the cause of the no sound issue.

Ok. I got it delivered. It has the volume pot but it is loose, playing with it I got to have the audio back. Now, I should replace it, but would like to consolize this MV1B so i guess that pot is bypassed by stereo mod so I could leave it alone. James, can you confirm this? Btw, a really good catch!!

Correct, you won't need it for consolization.
