The first thing that came to mind, was either an expensive CMVS job or owning a garage to store an upright cab, neither of which I'd be interested in.

I wonder if there was ever a mock-up/design sheet of a cab to go with it. 2 rows of 4 for the marquees, or just a really wide cab with something like a 30" monitor? I wonder if SNK ever had plans to make a 4 player machine with a board like this...so many possibilities.

I thought the 6 slot cab was wider and had a 29" monitor, wouldn't the 8slot fit in that?
I don't doubt the 8slot board is real. I noticed in the original picture posted by DavidG, you can see a shadow of the person taking the picture from above.
