I consider myself a pretty big Neo fan (why else would I be at these boards), have a sweet AES system, but I weary of getting an NGPC. I consider myself more of a gamer than collector so I want to make sure I really enjoy any gaming product I buy. I've never really have been into handheld systems, except for the Atari Lynx which I poured over with Shanghai, Klax, and Blue Lightning, truly gems. My bro has a GBA, but I don't play it that much, not enough to warrant picking one up. So will the NGPC keep me glued for hours of gaming fun, with supposedly unbelievable handheld fighting controls, the puzzle games, and my fav MVS/AES NTM translation, or will just sit around an collect dust on my shelves?

Klax:
Klax is a mighty game indeed.
Haha, nice handle. Klax is the shit and is only topped in my opinion by Tetris. Heck I put it up over Puzzle Bobble and Magical Drop.

Yes - it is definitely worth getting. I really enjoy having a hand held system on which I can play some of my favorite MVS games. I really wasn't sure how much I'd play it when I bought it as I never had a hand held before. But after it arrived I got hooked. Several games have had me playing for hours including: The Last Blade, Magical Drop, Gals Fighters and Neo Turf Masters. With the prices as low as they are right now on the NGPC and games I don't see how you could go wrong. I picked my first one up on EBAY with 3 games w/boxes for about $30 shipped. Just look around and you should find a good deal pretty fast.

You really need to get one now!
Havent you played one at all????????????
The NGPC is stilll absolutely superb, even when compared with the GBA SP.
Its got the best controller of any hand-held ever!
Well it should be really, its just the stick from the CD controller.
The screen is easier to see than the unlit GBA, and the games all have a distinctive 'NGPC' look to them.
This distinctiveness comes from the super-deformed style that most ngpc games seem to adhere to, and the fact that the NGPC can only manage a few colours per sprite.
The games on the ngpc have a style that is so distinctive that even when they were first released, they had almost a 'retro' look to them. This has actually managed to make sure that the games dont really 'date' visually.
If you compare the visuals of the NGPC and GBA KOF games, then the GBA initially looks much better....
But once you have played the NGPC version, you will immediately fall in love with the unique style of the graphics (This is the same with all ngpc games).
The best way to describe the difference would be to liken the majority of console games graphics styles to Disney's animated movies....
Which would make the Neo-pocket's style like Manga.

It's a great handheld, but if you aren't already into handhelds, it probably won't change your opinion that much. Honestly, I like the GBA more, but the NGPC is a close second. That said, I love handhelds, especially the Gameboys and play them quite often. But like I said, if you aren't into handhelds.. you'll probably be disappointed.

Hmmm, from reading your responses, I guess I'll just have to pick one up :) If I truly do not like it, I'll just resale on these forums I guess.

You must own a NGPC!!

I have over 130 hours on CFC and I own 33 other games as well. I have invested wwwaaaayyyy to much time into the NGPC, but it was worth every second!

Go buy one now!
