Arrived today! And am very pleased. Can anyone recommend some good 'non-fighter' games? (besides the slugs of course)

I guess I just am not a big fan of fighters. Sure one or two is ok but the Neo seems to have A LOT! I hope there are enough non-fighter games (that are worth owning) to justify owning the system.

Also what is the status of SNK? Am I getting into it too late? Will they continue to release more games? More slugs or slug-like games? I see that a KOF 2001 is being released I guess that shows promise.

Hey, it's a Neo-Geo. Just pick any game and you can't go wrong (Legend of Success Joe excluded).

you got a NEO and you're not really into fighting games?

interesting.

that's a bit like marrying jennifer lopez and not really being an ass-man.

oh well, congratulations on owning the BEST hardcore system of all time.

i wish i could recommend some titles, but all i play are fighters!

i hear viewpoint and shock troopers are very good.

You mentioned " besides the Slugs " when you start playing those you wont be wanting for much more for a while, should keep you busy whilst you make a decision on the next carts.
I always end up going back to MS....Heavy Machine gun <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

Do you have particular genres of games you'd rather play than fighters? I'll list a few of my favorites...

You can't go wrong with Magical Drop II or III, two games I know I personally can't get enough of. Also, Viewpoint, Twinkle Star Sprites, Nam '75, and Blazing Star come highly recommended as well.

Also, if you don't mind my recommending, pick yourself up a MVS-to-Homecart convertor from !Arcade!, better known as the Phantom-1. I've been able to buy some great games on MVS format for a fraction of the homecart cost, and still play them on my Neo Geo. The convertor has a bit of a hefty price tag on it (I gave $400 for mine, but they may be cheaper now), but the money you save on games will have the thing paid for in a relatively short amount of time.
