What's the story behind UK Samurai Showdown 2 Covers?

THe UK Samurai Showdown 2 has two different covers, one's white with a bunch of characters, the other's red with lots of squares containing heads. Both covers are in English too. Anyone know why there are two different covers? Is one rarer than the other?

I think they were released at different times and snk must have been experimenting with cover designs at the time.

Hmmm, actually I think they're not both UK.

They're both European, but only one of them is UK... The one with all the characters in squares.

The other one would be the French/Spanish one...
