Hi I was just wondering how the two compare, which one is most powerful or are they the same?

Thanks

The GBA has been released 3 years or so after the NGPC, so it's natural it's overal better on the specs side.
32 bits against 16, better sound, more colors, higher resolution etc...

BUT... Crappier games. :p
And batteries that don't last as long... And no cool joystick, a mere shitty cross pad instead... And so on.

"or are they the same?"
Do you know of any console from different producers that are the SAME ? :\
That part in your sentence kinda... Hmm... Disturbed me.

The Pocket rules! The d-pad on the GBA is rubbish for the fighting games esp - long live SNK!

GBA has no great fighting games and no Metal Slug :D

But the GBA has many race games and cool adventure games.

And the gfx are better, only the d-pas sucks crying

NGPC still ownz, GBA will never get a taste of what the NGPC has like,
SNK Vs. Capcom MOTM (nuff said)

SNK Vs. Capcom Card Fighter Clash (Fuck Yu-Gay-Oh and Pokedork on GBA, SVC always will rule as the best card battle game)

Rockman Battle and Fighters (No other system will dare get to touch base with this beauty!)

Samurai Shodown 2 (GBA will never the light of day on this)

Metal Slug (Sure GBA is going to get this, but we got two!)

Fatal Fury (Only NGPC will know the true beauty of it all)

Ogre Battle: Prince of Zenobia (Oh god for a japanese game, this still rules, sure GBA has Tactics Ogre, but I'd rather play classic Ogre Battle FIGHT IT OUT!)

Last Blade (nuff said! You cant touch this game on any portable system)

Gal Fighters (Oh ya, greatest moments for a crazed horn-dog 14 year olds to play, but on a serious note, this is one of the greatest fighters oddly to grace the NGPC, next to MOTM)

Sonic Pocket Adventure (Yeah Sega was our bitch for a good while, and what is the best way to do it? then with Sonic himself, sure GBA has it, but this one was so much better, it stuck with classic Sonic 2 gameplay, which I thought was the best in the entire series imho)

King of Fighters (Now this is arguable, since KOF on GBA is better/worse, depending on which your comparing EX Vs. EX2 so to speak, but Im just happy with KOF R-2)

And thats my rant for why NGPC I would choose over GBA buttrock

yeah, definitely ...

But there are also some games I'd like to own for GBA e.g. Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper or the new Metal Slug : Survival Mission ... but the nintendo-tactic to produce always old SNES ports e.g. Mario World and stuff really suxx :D

BTW stifu, my resource still has 3 Cool Cool Jam in stock ... you can buy them for 17$ each, if you are interested LMK ... this happens 'cos i ran out of money this month :( so I can't pay the 15$ difference for our deal ... and I'm not sooo interested in Gals Fighter 'cos I have to play my other games yet like CFC wink

PEACE :D

Alright, thanks for the info... PM or something.
Although I don't have much money myself, which is why a trade would have been handy.

By the way, I own SFA 3 on GBA, it sucks.
And believe me, I love the arcade version, it's one of my favorite fighting games ever...

Yeah SFA3 on the GBA is okay, but nowhere near the MOTM/GF/LB mark. Half the stages are great, and the rest are the worst ones in the game, the controls are stiff, unplayable, crap, and the music is weak and plays out of place at times. The game seems like a rush job. When will we see MOTM bested...or at least matched?

Super street fighter is a better conversion than alpha 3.( Although this is as expected due to alpha 3 being a more recent arcade games than ssf2) Where is the speech on alpha 3 when the rounds begin etc?

The new metal slug should be really interesting. Hopefully will be close to the original. Although we can't expect it to be the same as the mvs versions

The D-PAD sucks on GBA, I wish they adopted the NEO GEO one.

The greatest game ever for a portable is stil MOTM.

GBA has cool games though, good RPG'S.

Pocket is still classic though...I miss it.

Neo Geo Pocket Color and Neo Geo Pocket owns Gameboy Advanced for free, 'nuff said.
Gameboy Advanced will catch up to Neo Geo Pocket Color when they stop these carbon copy.
The irony is people are buying these carbon copies. I know I myself will probably buy River City Ransom when it's released, that is, if I had a Gameboy Advance. If it doesn't have link support, forget it, what's the point of playing RCR without a friend to throw?

*Getting pumped for Metal Slug Survival Mission, SNK Vs. Capcom, and King of Fighters Advanced*

Actually I did, and honestly it's an arguable subject. So Im not gonna touch base, Im sure both the KOF R2 and KOF EX1 and EX2 are equally good in their own ways, yet I just stand by the KOF R2, because it's a mini-KOF98 pretty much to me :)

I personally like NGPC a lot more because of the great fighters such as MOTM and LB.

But on a different note, why the hell is everybody calling it "Gameboy Advanced"? I mean you guys should know better that it's just Game Boy Advance!! There's no d at the end!!

It was supposed to get called Advanced Game Boy at some point, then the name change to Game Boy Advance.

Indeed, there is no D at the end, but it's still a Game Boy that is... Advanced. :p
Just a detail anyway.

If you want to bitch further, you could say it's not NeoGeo Pocket 'Colour' either, but 'Color'...

Its hard to compare the two. They're from two different times. You can't really compare a system that no longer has games being produced for it to one that does.

I think the replies to this are very biased.
Take a true look.
GBA
Now has a built in rechargeable battary.
Front lighting.
Masive games selection.
More colors better res bigger screen.
The fighting games do suck so very true but so do the ones on the NGPC.
32 bit vs 16bit.

(Metal Slug will be comming out)
Not to mention I hate MS on the NGPC so boring.
There are only a handfull of good games on the NGPC. (Card Fighters Clash, Fasalie or what ever I have never personally played it, Bio Motor) and thats about it.

spock Not to completely debunk your argument, but despite GBA's Massive game selection, can you really say Kate and Ashley games are awesome? How about those terrible ports like Gauntlets Dark Legacy, movie license deals like Men in Black, totally retarded games like Get Phat... The deluge of terrible games is just embarassing.
The fighting games on the NGPC are definitely miles better than the ones for GBA right now, it's plainly amazing just how tight the engines are compared to Street Fighter Alpha 3 upper, King of Fighters EX. And 32 Bit vs. 16 bit? How about the PS2 or Gamecube or Xbox 128 bit vs. the NeoGeo MVS 24 bit? You know we're still loyal NeoGeo fans because of the quality that has come to be associated with NeoGeo.
