That some graphics on the NGPC, actually look "added"??

What I mean is, with some fighting games the foreground characters can actually appear to move across the background, without actually touching it!
Like there is a minute gap between them!

I think this is a really cool thing :)

I guess one of the tech boys can tell us how this is achieved, but I cant think of ANY other handheld that actually seems to manage it in quite the same way.

Way to go NGPC!

True, I have noticed that in many of the fighters, especially how the KOF98 backgrounds ended up in the KOFR2, so it does give that one minute apart apeal

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!

God Bless you NO!

What I mean is this!
With certain games, it almost looks as though there are multiple layers to the screen.
In other words, instead of the screen looking like a moving picture, it looks like the characters are actually separate from the background.

Where's the tech boys?
Someone explain how it is done!

I'm not sure if its the construction of the screen, or the way the hardware handles the sprite layering/ paralax scrolling etc.

Does anyone know what I mean?????????????

uhh.. I kinda see what you mean.

but .. everything "on top" is a sprite..

so maybe this is how the ngpc deals with sprites...

Individual pixels look kind of 'bevelled' there is a definite line around each one. The characters in R2 have a black outline, black pixels seem not to show this effect, so umm they might look different...

(Am I the fruiter now?)

I see what you mean, its probably just the simple, brightly coloured sprites and comparativley dull, washed-out backgrounds messing with your head.

Like that trick when you squint at a TV, it can sometimes become 3-D because of the way your mind puts the picture together...oh man, now I'm the one who sounds crazy!
