I don't remember exactly how old I was, but my local arcade got an MVS with some of the early games and I was hooked. I loved playing Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting. Fatal Fury came out when? 1990-1991? I was 14 in 1990.

I remember graduating in '94, I played KOF for the first time at Livingston's. This was back when Livingston's was a real arcade, and was packed with MVS cabs. Now they just have one lonely cab with horrible monitor burn out.

Now that I can actually have an MVS Cab in my living room that I can play any time I want.. it's like a dream come true.

I don't know about when I first played it in the arcade, but I purchased my first (and only) NGH system back when I was a freshman in high school. It came bundled with Sam Sho 2 (which is the reason I bought it in the first place). I guess that would make me 13 or 14 then... so about 10 or 11 years ago.

When I was visiting my uncle on his home on Mallorca / Spain in Summer 1997! We went on a "Aqua Parc" near Palma. There I discovered an arcade with some MVS - Machines. First game I've played METAL SLUG YEEEEAAHHH , and others (Kabuki Klash, Breakers).I was 13!

Then I know, what excactly the NEO is.

Most Neo fans are mid 20's to 30+. Keep in mind when the system released. You were in diapers I believe..

It is good to see younger people showing an interest in the Neo though, it makes me think maybe not all the game buying public are morons. There may still be hope..

I first played Neo when I was 17. Time went down and now I am... still 17 :D
The Problem in Germany is that the so called arcades can only be visited if you are 18 yrs or older and that arcades with Videogames or even MVS games are very rare (I would say as rare as an EUR Kizuna Encounter for NGH wink ) so I had to buy a MVS system by myself to play the Neo stuff buttrock

It's in '91 or '92, I was 10 and the game was "Blue's Journey" and it was on the 1st floor of a bar in Namur (Belgium) that doesn't exist anymore. I remember I looked for this game on my home system (a NES) and I of course never found it so I bought "Nemo - Dream Master" thinking it was that game by looking at the cover because I didn't knew Blue's journey title (you're stupid when you're young but I quickly saw it wasn't the same game when I started it!). It was only a few years ago that I saw a "Blue's Journey" snapshot on an emulation site that I straight recognized my beloved game.
Now I got a MVS (I never though I would get this one day!) and I'm still looking for this cart! I'm nostalgic of the early nineties 'coz there were a lot of Neo-Geo (MVS) around (nearly every bar, swimming-pools, arcades, ...) and the games were so impressive for that time! It's the good old days :D

I guess I was 8 or 9... 7-11 2 blocks from my house got an MVS with Magician Lord, King of Monsters, Baseball Stars and Nam. They had that and SF2:CE w/Rainbow Chip. I spent so much time there, and started skipping school to go there. Even if I didn't have money I would just watch people play. Also a full sized arcade in the mall about 7 blocks from my house. Started going there a little later and experienced Fatal Fury 1/2. I always paid attention to Neo related stuff in magazines and talked about it with my friends. It was like the holy grail of game systems but no one could afford one at that age.

I was 12 (1992)
just went to the trocadero center with my mate to play some streetfighter 2 (the players at trocadero were brutal) while waiting for a go I spied fatal fury next to one of the streetfighter 2 cabinets so I stuck a credit in.
I was pretty impressed when my mate stuck a credit in mid match and we both started fighting the computer. that was the first time i saw mortal combat as well.

I think I was maybe 6 or 7 years old (9 years ago) when I played aof1(mvs) on free play with my best friend during my little brother's birthday party at playarobics. Not sure if that was my first time playing a neo game. But its defenitly the first time I can remember.

Little did I know 7 years later I would be playing it in the comfort of my own house. wink

first time i played i might have been 9 or 10. damn, its been a long time, maybe 12 or 13 years ago. i still remember playing fatal fury like it was yesterday. even burning fight was pretty cool at that time eek! .

i really liked it but street fighter 2 was better in my opinion. except for terry, he was cooler than the entire sf cast. when ss and ffs came out i was an instant snk fan. but the most impressive game i ever played had to be ss2. there was nothing that could even come close to it at that time. not even the shitty kof 94. that series only got good in 95.

To make a long story short, I used to play P.O.W. in the arcades. Didn't think much/know much of SNK at the time. It was just one of those 3rd party names I recognized from the NES or whatever...

In the early 90's; I think I was about 13-14 years old (in my gaming prime), my friend invited me over to his house to check out his surprise present his father bought him.

When I reached his house, I couldn't believe it. He had a 4 slot MVS system in his bonus room! (His dad had $$$$).

We played Nam, BB Stars, Magician Lord, etc over at his house all the time. I always thought it was the coolest thing, BUT I also knew how much it cost, and realized I'd never be able to get one -- at least then.

It was right about this time that the MVS machines were appearing everywhere also. In supermarkets, arcades, bowling alleys, burger joints, etc.

The Neo is very nostalgic for me. I vividly remember playing my little brother Baseball Stars at the Fuddruckers in San Diego after little league games...

I had never seen in person / or played an AES until I finally got mine. I remember seeing the ads in GamePro and whatnot, but I was 12-14 at the time, and due to price, it was more than just a little bit out of my budget. I'm 25 now, and enjoying the neo just as much as I did when I was younger, which is damn cool :)

I was 5 years old, and I didnt realize it till last year, but I went over one the house of my sisters friend with her and they were playing a double dragon that even then I thought looked weird because my Nintendo double dragon didn't look the same. Theres was way better and they were using joysticks. Always wondered what that was and it finally hit me when I was like 17.

I was 11. It was back in 1991.

I cannot forget when I saw "the myth". The Neo was charged with Alpha Mission II.

Then a few months later, I had the opportunity to touch the Joystick whle playing Fatal Fury !!

The game was released a few days back, and the import store got it at lightspeed !

At that time, I completely forgot what Street Fighter II ( the world warrior, not CE or HF )seemed to be! buttrock

The first time I played on a Neo Geo was back in '94 at my mom's old business. I was in middle school then, and I would ditch school sometimes and I would ask to go to work with her so, I could play it all day long. It was a 2 game MVS arcade, it had Art of Fighting 2 and World Heroes 2. Too bad that the arcade broke :( I would get an MVS arcade for myself but, I ain't got room in my house. So, I just bought a AES system jus a couple of months ago and one of all-time favorites, Art of Fighting 2, depsite it is hard, but still one of my favorites. :D
