Some of these auctions I see on eBay have been closing at bids previously unimaginable. Fatal Fury First Contact for $41, Rockman Battle & Fighters for $71? Makes me stuff look like a steal, that does. Edge did a great disservice to the Neo Geo Pocket gamers if this was the aftershock.

You don't have to sell. Neo Geo Pocket is a conversation topic starter, it's just so awesome people who see it do double takes.

I am reaaalllyyy glad that I got all my games when I did. I couldn't possibly afford the prices that some of these games are fetching now! unfortunatly I am still looking for MS 2nd Mission and Neo Turf Masters. Guess I'll have to wait till interest dies down. Edge suxorz

Just a Q!
In your sig, you say 'utopia' buggers up DCs???

Is that true, and how?
I'm just curious.
Thanks

They're all universal models you know. ^_^
The only difference is the B&W NGP, the NGPC, and the NNGPC or "Slimline".

And yeah, the prices are through the roof. I wish I picked up Rockman when it sold for $30.

how is reporting on an interesting niche scene to educate and inform a disservice?

What people choose to do with information has nothing to do with a magazine.

The people whi simply read those articles and move onto the "next big thing" have long left NGPC begind- Have you seen some of the ~Jap Saturn prices recently?!

Yep. It does. If your DC reads CD-R's too much it screws up the laser. I bet that's why tons of people screw up their dc's...

Yeah I'm one of them, but I didn't play CD-Rs, I played always with a boot disc (for imports) ... and one day *booom*

PEACE :D

Wow, you learn something new everyday. Maybe that's why my cousin's Dreamcast is kinda screwy now, it no longer wants to read the legal Dreamcast games correctly, often locking up now.

Maybe he means asian packaged versions.

The asian NGPC release came with a different packaging than the US or Japanese one.

Really? Is that true? The Asian NNGPC (slimline)release had the exact same packaging as the Japanese releases at least. I don't thnk I've seen a normal NGPC's asian packaging though.

As for the original NGPC, the Japanese packaging (bland orangy background with glowing spots) was different from the US release (NGPC against bland orange gradient background) and none were even close to how the European packaging looked (much more professional, multicolored psychedelic look).

It's not that bad, there's still reasonably priced games to be had :)

A couple of weeks ago I was in birmingham and got a bunch of games from Cex and Gamestation for pretty good prices. Cex has a pretty decent selection it's as if the NGPC never died (apart from the lack of rarer games) :)

Ebay has never been the best place to get NGPC games, never will be.

On a side note new consoles are sooo easy to get right now. Even on ebay they seem pretty cheap. I've got 3 silver systems all sealed, and a few slimlines on the way (not looking to sell, I just like having them you know? I've gone through a couple of consoles already I don't want to one day run out). You can get them for $20 easy if you look around.

It's wierd that game prices are skyrocketting but system prices are dropping.

That I'm not surprised at all, because the games were recalled from domestic shores but the consoles were not. At least, that's what I remembered. Who could have predicted that these prices would go where they do today though? Only kami-sama knew.

Well, the Neo Geo pocket is the most common product from SNK. I have one but I never play it.

Do you have any games for it? If you never play it, maybe I can convince you to part with the console and the games ^_^
