I recently bought this game! it is fantastic eek!
But i need a little help:
-what can i do with the items?
-is there an item faq because i undersand
-is it hard to finish?

I'm going to work on a faq for this, but it's a bit of work so I'll answer the immediate questions:

-The better your photos, the stronger their stats. Basically, the best photo is a well centered, visibly recognizable mug shot of the spirit you captured.

-Films allow you to take pictures. If you run out of film, you can not take anymore pictures. They can be found in shops.

-A kid is in the store of most towns, looking for proof of the occult, you can say he's a fanbois. This is your major income revenue, because you can sell your spirits with the crappier stats to him.

I've 42/120 ghost and 1500000yens eek!
but i see only the same ghosts... how to find rare ones?

That's the harder part. Each day is separated into Dawn, Day, Noon, Dusk, Night, and certain ghosts only show up in certain locations when these conditions are met, some may even show up in town or in houses. That's where reading the Japanese help, as well as going to the newspaper headquarters, because they collect tips of when or where these ghosts and spirits materialize. For instance, the Mermaid only shows up at sea around noon, so you have to ride a boat to arrange an encounter with one.

I may have to go back to this...

I have one ghost snap. From the fox (?) in the opening location

So, anybody care to give a clue as to *how* you find *any* more. I've spent hours randomly roaming the landscape, chatting to people and generally being lost and haven't found a single ghost after that first encounter...

I have lots of notes though - presumably these are hints of the "go here at this time to find a ghost" type variety...

but there is 2-3 thinks i don't understand:
-i was to a temple, a guy showed me a fox picture.... what have i to do? because i saw nothing else on the island.
-i was to the fuji mont? or a mont with a big hole when you get inside. What have i to do there?
-the is 2 ghosts i can't get, when i shot them, the photos aren't good.
-have you an item translation

I was going to like, bring my cart with my Neo Geo, but I was too lazy to do so today because I had some errands. I'll try to answer your questions as competently as possible, if memory serves:

The story of Yokai Shashin Kan goes something like this. Shigeru Mizuki, famous occult scholar, is a respected authority in the field of occult research. This is the author's pen name, so he plays his virtual self in the game. You've heard much about this, and you are so infatuated with the sensei that you also want to embark on a quest for ghosts and spirits. So after much pleading, he agrees to test you out a bit. I think you start with 4 pieces of film, the mysterious Spirit Camera, and you are on your way to hunt for spirits. So the first one is located in town, at around dusk there is an area with shadow where nothing else is visible, and that's your first spot with high occult activity. Once you've done that, you make your way back to Mizuki Shigeru's house, only to find that something catastrophic is in progress, as lightning and loud noises emanate from the house. One of the highest level spirits that Shigeru has captured and placed under magical seals, is gaining strength and gradually breaking free of the constraints! So you are now the willing aid for sensei. You have to go find more spirits, and there are 4 high level spirits in Japan that have enough spirit influence to stand down the spirit that is trying to break free of the seal, but they are no walk in the park to capture either. You have to walk around Japan to take pictures of monsters, some of the higher level ones carry the seals that will allow you to setup forcefields, and from within these forcefields you can take pictures of the trapped spirits.

-The temple you reached is the place Mizuki Shigeru directs you to go in the beginning. They have the information for locating the 4 high level spirits found in Japan.
-Right now I'm not sure what keeps you out of certain areas. Maybe you haven't attained enough spirit sensitivity, maybe you need to speak to someone to unlock them. Because I only have a 3rd year equivalence in Japanese, I can't handle the dialects that SNK reproduced in Mizuki Shigeru Yokai Shashin Kan...
-Each high level spirit needs to be locked down by a forcefield setup by 3 seals. Certain ghosts carry these, I have been too busy to capture ghosts to pay close attention to who carried them.
-As you level up, your spirit sensitivity heightens, and various attributes improve. These are key to capturing good spirit pictures. Holding one of the buttons is focus, and your spirit meter will drain. Take the picture with the other button, while still holding down the first to take picture before the meter drains completely.
-I'll make item translations when I know how to produce Japanese text here.

-I'm level 99 now, but there is always ghosts i can't get when i shot them very_ang
for exemple the one in the farm (with a lot of cows): it is very slow, i take it easily, but when i want see the pict, I see only stars on a black background... and that's for others ghosts too! loco
-I went to a second temple, but 1 guy don't let me pass... what have i to do?

i finally resolved these problems!
I found the 4 high level spirits, i wennt to my master, and 4 seals went into the ghost!
Now i unlocked the acces to the temple but i don't know what i have to do...
have i to get the 120 ghosts to see the end? (i'm at 109 now) or have to find a 5th high level ghost?
