i mean wouldnt it be cool.
i have quite a few of the games
and this is one of the few that i dont have
that i genuinely want to play.
wouldnt it be great if playmore ported the NGP game
to the gba? i mean it would be good timing too
to coincide with the NEOGEO game.
the NGP game is legitamitely rare so please dont
bitch about your cart losing its value.

The NGPC cart wouldn't lose its value if a GBA version of the game got released.
Anyway, that won't happen.

It seems possible to me!
That CFC format is still being used by other developers, so Playmore would have no reason to think that an unpgraded CFC2 would 'bomb' on the GBA, and they are looking to enter the profitable GBA market, so why not?

Once the first couple of Playmore/SNK titles arrive on the GBA, and as long as they are at least reasonably well received, then doesn't it stand to reason that Playmore will be looking to follow those with other titles, and wouldn't CFC2 follow on quite nicely from SNK vs Capcom?

It seems like a logical choice to me?
Playmore want to continue to bring the existing SNK stable of games to the attention of the new generation of gamers, so what better way than using Capcom's reputation, and placing the game within the popular 'Card Battle' type genre?

It would be no bad thing if kids started talking about SNK characters in the same breath as Yu-Gi-Oh cards?
Did I spell that right?

Now that Playmore have commited themselves to bringing Metal Slug 3D to the PS2, and Samurai Spirits as well! Then raising the publics awareness of some of SNKs history can only help to prepare them for the 'new' installment of classic games.

exactly. isnt card playing games like yugiuoh
getting popular as gba and ps games?
might as well port it.
even if it was in limited quantities like
how sammy brought out the kof ex1 and guilty gear.

Actually stifu, I'm not sure what you think is so strange about this idea. All they would have to do is change the screen size of the game, or add a border to make up for the difference, and it would be great. And the GBA could handle the graphics no problem.

Or maybe a cfc3 smirk .

I know it wouldn't be hard to port the game or make a sequel for it, although that's not the problem.
I just highly doubt they will do it, no matter what...

We'll see if time proves me right or not.

I look at it this way.

SNK is looking to get back into consumer games - ie, get into peoples homes. What better way then sell a handheld game for one of the most popular gaming platforms. AND, it's a game that showcases your company's entire lineup w/ characters. If a casual gamer who might not play a SNK fighting plays CFC2 and enjoys the game, the SNK and capcom characters, etc, they are alot more likely to pick up a SNK fighting game.

Afterall, they are already doing a MS for gba, SvC, etc. But then again, they might have to renew the license with crapcom - who knows.

Hmm... Well, Metal Slug is getting ported to the GBA, and KoF got 2 releases already...
But those are SNK / NeoGeo classics...

Whereas the card battle games have only seen the day on NGPC... It's not really a classic from SNK...

Yes, but TCGs appeal to kids, especially videogame ones. What better way to introduce your characters to a new generation of games than through a card game? It worked for pokemon.

There's already such games on GBA...

Don't think SvC CFC would stand a chance (in terms of sales) against Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh...
But it might, if done right...

Yes, it might have to appeal to a different market, the older gamers. Oh well, we will see.

I see it the same way. From all we've heard from Playmore about new NGPC games and how they have little to no interest in them, CFC 2 on gba is just as unlikely as ever. But there's always a small part of me that holds out hope :D

Here is what they do.
They license the franchise over to Konami.
Konami creates a new game in the same format as CFC2 with better 16-bit graphics, sound, etc. while adding in about 200 new cards, a bigger map, and maybe mini games or something.

Its the perfect crime, they already do it with KOF, but he licensed it over to crappy companies that make very bad games. Konami would make a good one.

Even if Playmore wanted to do something like this, Cardfighter 1 would be the more logical choice. Not just because it's the one that's already translated into English, but also since it has a real overworld and more cards and such. It's a more complete game, that's why they called CFC2 "Expand Edition"...Aruze knew they didn't have a real full game on their hands that could be compared to the original.

Now, of course, a Cardfighter 3 game would be the coolest of all, combining the best of both worlds. Although, really, I don't think there's anything about CFC2 that I prefer to the original. The Reaction cards may make the game more interesting when you have a killer deck, but they make the battles way too long so I often find myself losing interest before its over.

Neither CFC game was really that great.

The first one went much faster, especially when you got the heavy-hitting power cards. It was kind of fun to kick the crap out of people with Geese, Krauser, and the other bruisers, but it was horribly unbalanced.

The second was more balanced, but much more slow, and boring, I thought.

I really wouldn't want either of those 2 games on the GBA, unless they were prepared to overhaul the games and make them muchmore fun. I don't think the characters in the games are really well-known enough to merit it (people who own a NGPC know who Baby Head and Rosa are, but mainstream GBA owners don't). All the references to the weird obscure characters are really just fan service for hardcore fans like us.

I'd rather see SNK try to build up some GBA credibility with Metal Slug or some other good mass market title. Apparently they're keeping the Cool Cool Toon characters around on their new fansite. Maybe they could make one of those games for GBA instead.

Bah, I think people just like to whine about how poor the game is because they want to protect their investment, they think they can affect the decision of the ports that way.

Playmore is sitting on a possible cash cow. Just needs to be done right...and with the drought of quality on the GBA (compared to it's quantity) it's surefire.

SS642 is also something that, if ported well, would kick ass on the PS2 or GC...and that is just from me seeing video of it.
