Just wondered if anyone has got a Pocket Linker and flash cart, cos I'm thinking about getting one for playing all those PD roms and "other" roms.

Is it any good?
Does it have a good campatibility rate?
Any problems?
Any other info...

Hope someone can help.

I got one. Its a nice thing u can play all Games with it, but keep sure to get a 32 M Flashcard.
Anyway u cant play some games ( 2or 3 ) like coolboarders but overall i can say all games work fine.
U cant backup savegames only the complete Game with savegame.
U need special PP Cabel to get the Poketlinker work on ur PC if u got the wrong cable the PC dont find the linker.
I use the linker for testing some games, everytime i try to get the real carts, because its so pretty cool to got these calmshels.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah, its a good thing to have for testing to see if you like a game, bit I agree its better to own the original.

I've got about 13 games, but can't afford to get any more just yet (if you can find them all!), so its good for playing any hard to find games, etc.

At Lik Sang they only sell the 32M version now anyway and you get the proper cable and power cable with it, so you can just use it as soon as you get it.

By the way, does it take long to transfer the data onto or from the flash cart?

Thanks

If you're still looking, jimmy, you might try this link <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1341704052" target="_blank">here</a>.

Well i guess the Problems some people have is that they dont get the right cable so its luck when the Linker works or not. i got the right and not to long cable an i got no probs with it.
Uploading a game depends on the size of the game but i can say a few seconds..
Sometimes ur NGPC will do a reset because of the power cunsumation of the flashcard.
I got my linke for 2 years now and it still works fine. Resets till now only 3 and only when the battery is low.
By the way i own 16 original games now all Euro versions and yes i got the Last Blade, Faselei, Match of the milenium, Card fighters ( both ) and Evolution. The NGPC is still the best handheld for me...

Thanks

I'm not getting one so that I don't have to buy the games, I just would like to have a go with them to see if I like certain games, and until I can afford to buy them. It'll just save me a lot of time really!

Does it work well with multiple games on one flash cart? I've read that the Gameboy Advance Flash Advance Linker carts only let you save data for the first few games you store on the cart (i think thats for the 128 and 256Mb carts). How does the NGPC flash carts handle this?

Thanks again

Is that economical to use flashcards since a 32 meg flash card costs more than an ngpc game? Im confused.

Joseph, no offence, but I think you should go to <a href="http://www.lik-sang.com" target="_blank">www.lik-sang.com</a> and find and read about what the Pocket Linker and Flash Cart actaully are and what they are used for.

The flash cart can be written ("flashed") to and overwritten ("flashed" again) as many times as you want, thus allowing you to test out actual NGPC game roms and public domain games on the NGPC itself.

Whereas a proper NGPC game cartidge keeps its particular game on forever and cannot be overwritten or altered in any way.

They are just a handy thing to have for playing/trying out official NGPC games and public domain games to see how they actually play on a proper NGPC handheld console, rather than on emulators or not at all!

Hope you're un-confused by this information!!!

Hi
how big are the biggest games??
The reason I ask is because I found <a href="http://www.easybuy2000.com/store/nintendo%20accessories/neogeo.shtml" target="_blank">this</a> and was wondering if it would be ok or not.

Thanks for any info :D
