Are you sure you played it?

Beat the game with the Hero team on any difficulty and it unlocks Iori.

After that beat the game with the Fatal Fury team on any difficulty and it unlocks Geese Howard.

After that beat the game a little more and you unlock the extra strikers.

It has tons more bugs/infinites but all the gameplay is intact and it controls great considering you have to use the two trigger buttons. I think I can say it controls great accurately because I never even held a GBA until I got KoF EX for it and I got right into it without any trouble. The music is crap but it has a lot of voices in it and while there's animation cuts most of the special move effects still look cool.

Also take note that many people who have "reviewed" the game have done so based on the emulation of it, which is retarded. There's problems with the rom (like some flame effects having really garbled colors, etc.) that people have just assumed are in the finished game, which is bullshit.

Edit:

joseph: I notice you just opened this thread today. The game was already released a while ago. :)

chohan: If you want more info about the gameplay goto the www.orochinagi.com forum and check out the thread in "The King of Fighters: Gameplay" section. The only people who are dissappointed in this game are people who were expecting a pixel perfect port of King of Fighters. The Dreamcast couldn't handle that so I don't see why expectations for the GBA version are so high.

I knew it has been out for a while, just not in the US. And nop one had said anything about it in the forums so I thought I would voice my frustration. I must confess that I played my friends and it is not mine. So it is not like I have a whole lot of playing time with it.

Well actually, I bet you the GBA carts can hold what 1-64 megabytes right about now, right? 600 megabits is only 75 megabytes, so we really arent that far off the total number.

Thanks for the good review on the game, I won't expect a perfect game like KoF 99 DM on DC, but it will be good for a handheld I hope :)
