Since i am new to the sexyness of the neo pocket i was wondering why there are alot of sales on ebay and other forums for the cart only???

how the fuck can you lose the case, instructions and the plastic little protective holder

do they have a self destruct after a certain period of time????, actually starting to piss me off as i am looking for some good condition games and i find that most of the auctions on ebay are for cart only or cart and plastic holder

are they made of dog treats??? - so as soon as you take it home - the family pet eats the case

discuss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! annoyed annoyed

I guess it's the portability factor...

It's the same with Gameboy collecting (not that I'm remotely interested in GB but still...) - people buy the game, put the cart (and case) in their bag and throw away the packaging.

Other people obviously. I'm a sucker for boxes. Got hundreds of 'em wink

Cheers

Don't forget a lot of the games have been bought by kids with their pocket money.
Inevitably, they don't get as well looked after as say us adults buying an AES or MVS system and carts.

Obviously I haven't thrown away any of my NGPC boxes but then again I knew what the value of them was.

Seriously though, how many of you still have all your boxes from your 8-bit NES games? I sure don't (of course considering the price of some of them today I wish I had). I've only had to move twice in the last 10 years but some people move every year (Navy brats like my older sister and brother for example) and you just CAN'T take all that stuff with you. There's a ton of stuff that I've thrown out (not just game related) that I probably could sell on eBay now for hundreds of dollars if I wanted, but I don't have infinite storage. frown

I've never understood what would motivate someone to just toss the box and instructions and in some cases the clamshell. oh_no It's beyond me.

people just seem not to care about portables cause they cheaper to start with so why take care of them as much as long as they work. i know i don't have cases for my gameboy or gamegear stuff but when it comes to my neo pocket it's all mint and boxed i don't know why people would lose or mistreat a neo geo product

yes, the reason why most of the stuff for it gets thrown out is not only because little kids have owned it, or because most ignorant gamers buy all the good releases, but it goes deeper than that. Not only the fact that it's portable, so it's not even given the condiseration that other 30 dollar games would have. But I think it's mainly the fact that most people(myself included) leave thier stuff on the floor after a hard day of working, gaming, and forum posting. And inevitably after being there long enough it gets stepped on(fucked up) and gets to the point where it's no longer worth keeping anymore. luckily most of my boxes are only lightly crushed. As soon as I realised what I had stepped on I felt like I had almost desroyed one of the most important things in my room
