Back Story: I posted a sales thread and a buyer asked if the boards were legit on some of the carts that I was selling and I said yes because I believed they were. However after thinking about it, I wanted to be sure. So, I opened the carts to inspect the boards. I got quite concerned when I saw a number of carts that did have SNK boards but non-Toshiba roms. I tried looking for pictures in the boot sub forum here and didn't find much. After a little more research, I discovered mvs-scans.com. After comparing my photos to the scans on the site, I was relieved to find out that the boards were legit. For the sake of example, I will link to some of the board sets on mvs-scans.com that had me concerned at first.

I found these scans interesting as there were no Toshiba roms at all. Each board has different marking on the roms, however each type is still considered legit. If this is old news and I am late to the party then disregard this, but it was a good lesson I learned tonight and thought others may benefit from it.

Just for the record, SNK used:

Fujitsu
Sony
Hitachi
Sharp
Toshiba

Best crossover example would be The Super Spy, contains Fujitsu, Hitachi and Toshiba MASK roms.

On a side note SNK used MX MASK roms in 97 for the Hyper 64 games, don't know about the later games.
