I feel like K'9999 with tentacle arm in hand. If I have any complaint it would have to be the length of the game, I thought it was too short, but man it is such a blast, blending shooter elements together with an RPG storyline, and the night/day cycle affecting the denizens of the dark realm is a very nice touch. Now I gots to find someone to play head to head...

Link is fun, I used to play it with a friend back when the NGPC was still in retail; but the tentacles are abuse-able, as some of them go through walls, and many of the levels have a very gauntlet-like feel to them, making cool weapons such as the dolls cumbersome. Fun, but might last you 45 minutes at a time before you can't stand it anymore.

The ambusher that seems to get fairly limited use in story mode play has a very good application life for vs. mode I think. I would love to use that on my opponent. "What, where'd you go? Waaaa!"

the doll catcher si the coolest weapon in the game. I wish I could do that in real life. Create a copy of myself to walk up to someone else and explode, then send their soul back to me.

No clue what I'd do with all the souls, but it would be cool for population control.

I'll admit I was surprised as to how good this game is, and I still have never had a chance to play linked mode even. The only gripe I have about the game is that it really is WAY too short. I think I beat the game in about 3-4 hours, and then played it for another 4 hours just to get all the cool weapons. :D

I feel the same way it ended just when it got going in my opinion. They could have done a lot more with this title, it could have been fantastic.

I don't know if the concern for keeping it compatible with the Black and White version of Neo Geo Pocket held it back, and Dark Arms was a mere 8 Meg cart, they didn't take the plunge and give it 16 Meg so that there could be more worlds to explore.

Chances are that Noise Factory just didn't have the endurance for a longer game. That was like, their first wide release game on any system.

I bought the game when the NGPC was still in retail, I loved the game from the beginning...

Only thing: in some boss-rooms there are soms places where you can't be hit by the boss...

The game was a little to satanic for my tastes. Stand on a pentagram to refill my health? No thanks.
hahahaha!

Dude, that symbol is older than the devil. It's just magic, man. It was demonized because it was a unit of a belief structure that rivalled the Christianity that missionaries sought to prostylitize. Kind of like Baal, Mammon, Belial, and so many of the other "demons."

Just the gods and symbols that lost to christianity.

Sometimes people are just too funny.

The devil existed before we did.

According to Legion (AKA Exorcist 3), the detective philosophizes that we humans, in fact, are on earth, and is it not possible that we are the embodiment of Lucifer, once the favored angel of Jehovah but fallen from grace?

If you complete the game (send Joyce Slader away with the wandering town) the credits roll and it says 'Developed by Noise Factory'.
