I bought my NGPC probably 3-4 weeks ago, whenever Lik Sang had there deal. I bought Gals Fighters, Puzzle Bobble Mini, SamSho 2 and Last Blade.

Last Blade never ceases to amaze me. Unfortunately I never really have enough time to go through the game more than once. Well, tonight I did. I played with Akari (like I always do) and I almost shit when I won the game then played again. It had the same end character as LB2 plus it changes the story/ending! I thought that was DAMN cool.

So basically Last Blade for NGPC contains both LB and LB2. It even has the opening animation from both (well, sort of). THe music is basically the same as well. Now if only it had more buttons, I could almost get a full LB/LB2 fix on the road!

Sorry for the rant, but I really am impressed by this. It makes me wish I had supported the NGPC when it was new, not that that would have kept SNK from going under though :(

Anyone else have any thoughts on LB for NGPC?

is it american or japanese?
Actually it's weird... it IS the US version (it has the rating on it and everything). Supposedly that's rare, but since it only cost me $7, plus shipping and handling, I'm not that concerned. I actually wouldn't have cared if it WAS the JPN version, since it'd be a great game whether I could read it or not.

Another LB Pocket fan! :D

Last Blade for NGPC is my second favorite portable game ever behind MOTM. I had bought the JPN version about a year ago (cuz I couldn't find the UK version then) and loved it so much I also bought the UK version recently to get the translations.

The lack of 4 buttons isn't a big problem once you get used to it. The 2 endings for each character definitely kick ass, and it took me about a month to unlock all the stuff in the game (which I'm now happily doing again with my UK version). :D

The only gripe I have is that it does seem a little slower than the console versions, although I didn't really notice it until I went back and played LB2 on MVS.

Shawn has the Japanese version for $33 which is a pretty good price. I've seen the UK version go for over $150. Unless you're a hardcore LB fan, you'd probably be happy with the JP version.

It actually seems easier, at least in normal mode, than the MVS/NGH version as well. Maybe it's just me? I still have a few more things to "purchase" with Akari, then I'm finished with her. Maybe my next character will be Yuki?

The English version comes with English text, which the Japanese version doesn't have. That's it. Personally, I think the text is louder and uglier in the introduction when presented in English, it's just so stylish in script when written in Japanese. And the special stuff you can equip on your fighter had been changed from Kanjis (Ala Samurai Shodown 2's card collection system) to numbers. Otherwise, Last Blade Pocket is one kick ass port that's pretty much dead on when compared to the MVS and NGH versions, except it is slightly (only slightly!) slower.

If you don't like it I'll gladly trade for a worthy psx,ps2 or saturn game. Just drop me a pm I promise you won't be dissappointed. Also I have a few mvs and pocket games if you want only neo trades. I want the english version only though. So if anyone else wants in on a trade for this I'd be happy to oblige

I would agree that the Pocket version of Last Blade is pretty fun. The only thing I don't liek is not being able to read all the stuff. I have the Japanese version :(
Must get UK version one day.

It's too bad you couldn't get hooked up with the one Lik-Sang had... it was the never released US version (had the "E" rating on it and everything). It cost like $7 + s/h (probably would have been around $12 total after s/h). That's how I got mine. It would have been nice to at least have the manual, but there was a nice FAQ to be found at Gamefaqs.

The other plus side is that it didn't cost me the $150+/- for the UK version...

Biggest disappointment that was, I was hoping I could get a second copy for cheap so that I could link up with friend, and nothing came of it. That sucks.

moves are dumbed down. any idiot can play this game well. :o

I mean, just do a move, like Washizuka's chrage back, forward+a, then press forward + AB with a full pow bar.

Wow, super cancel.
