that ebay auction had a bidding war going on as i was in it but if i did not have so many bills to pay at the time i would have put a proxy bid in for £250.00 and perhaps more but i will just wait another 100 years for another to appear :D

I could make a list, just send me one of every NGPC title ever created for free and I promise I'll try to work on it. :D

Seriously, I think this is a great idea, but I probably wouldn't be much help. I think 2D's prices are right on the money from what I've seen though.

I'd be willing to help on the US games... I'm always selling some ngpc stuff on ebay (see my sig, this afternoon i list 3 systems and 4 more games :D ) so i guess if we just got together on this we could probably make it happen.

The best way would probably make a chart with several different conditions - ie, cart only, complete, manual and cart only. then just average together all the ebay prices.

if anybody is interested catch me on aim or icq or email me.

It is a good idea, but i am not sure it should be done for a year or so yet. The Pocket still has not really gained retro status so prices can be very, how we say, volatile!!

I know this is fairly true with all retro stuff but i am not sure that prices have levelled sufficiently to warrant a price guide.

I guess it would be easier if there was a relatively accurate database for the number of games released for each title. But i doubt that data is available.

A simple example is Pocket Reversi. Sure, very few are ever seen on the market, but who's to know that some idiot (or lucky bastard if he finds out their worth), is sitting on loads of copies stashed in their stockroom..... and these are just the Euro Clamshell games (hard as rock and difficult to ruin).

No doubt a Sealed Cardbox US/Jap game will be worth a bloody furtune in 10 years. Why? Simply because they are soft as shit, basically being about as rugged as toilet paper..... :D

So expect a sealed copy of Jap Pocket Reversi to be sold for £100 plus in a couple of years!!

I totally agree, the market hasn't leveled out enough yet for a price guide to be possible. In the last 6 months or so i hav e seen MS2ndMission go for anything from £25-£55 and that fluctuates wildley same goes for the systems (anything from the low 20's to the low 60's) PLUS you can still quite easily find good condition NGPC carts in 'flee market' type shops for good prices (and boot sales). as soon as that market starts to dry up then twe'll be able to see how the pices go.

All those Pachinko games are going to be worth a fortune. Grab those £5 copies of Dekahel while you still can ;)

I think stuff like the store demo carts will start to gain value.

I dunno about those demo carts... But anyway, this isn't relevant to the topic, but yesterday I was jacking around, and I found out you can switch the covers on carts . It's so funny. I turned my busted baseball stars b&w into baseball stars color  . But of course I'd never ever sell a cart like that :) .

Oh I think they will.. Completeists, collectors etc will want them.

There's Virtual Boy collectors who pay lots for Red Alarm "demo" carts. Those carts are the same as the commercial ones only with a "DEMO NOT FOR RESALE" bit on the label. Those bootleg multi carts will gain value too.

Also if you can get a rare game now, Pocket Reversi for example GET IT. £150 might seem like alot now but check out the prices for certain AES games or Virtual Boy games (theres a VBowling on ebay for over $600 right now). Common games will lose value, rare ones are going to gain value.

Yeah... I just have **SERIOUS** problems paying over 200$ for a handheld game... And one I wouldn't play if I had it. If I want to invest money, that's what the stock market is for :) . I just don't view videogames as an investment.

Yeah they're crazy people. I can justify £50, and if it's a one time chance thing maybe £100.

Like if I had a chance to buy Pocket Reversi for £100-£150 and I was certain that I'd probably never get a chance to own it again I'd probably go for it, but there's so many better things to spend £150 on.

But I honestly think that in a few years certain NGPC games will be selling for hundreds. Some people want a complete collection that badly. Ebay really doesn't help, for the most part ebay is pure evil and helps inflate prices of so-called "rare" games.

And the one advantage of collecting Neo Geo Pocket Game, as woth other SNK stuff, is that there are not thousands of games to collect and many of them are actually quite good, some are awesome!

With less than 200 it is possible to collect them all.... probably. ;)

This is probably why prices will rise in the future. A collection that doesn't isn't too small, isn't too big, and at the moment is not too expensive.

A lot of people will collect most of the games catalogue, then it will be a cat fight for the rare games!

Heh, I have one of those!! I was gonna open it but I then got hold of the UK version so it's remained sealed.

How much is the JP version worth now?? I know it's not much.

Woooooooo *goes mad* !!!

That JP version was another shaft from Telegames. They sent me the JP when I wanted UK and refused to refund me. Bunch of COMPLETE A-Holes.
