STV sound problem

I just got an STV mobo off ebay to replace the one I traded in a recent deal. Unfortunately the sound is garbled on any game I try. The mem checks all come back good so I assume this is a cap issue? If so, any one of you fine gents up for repairing this for me?

Is it garbled or is it full of static?

sounds like static.

The static is most likely old caps. Have you moved the sound pot through its full range to rule that out. Those can wear out too, just not as often as the caps.

I turned the pot all the way up and down and the static is noticeable no matter where it is.
