I've got a LaserActive Sega PAC with a bad battery that I need to open. I borrowed a set of security bits from a friend, but none of them match the screws on the PAC. Anyone know where I can get the right bit? Do most Pioneer products use the same type?

Thanks in advance.

Try Harbor Freight, they have a great bit kit that should open just about anything.

Was this the kit you were referring to?

The ironic thing is, that is the same kit I borrowed from my friend! So, no luck there. I'll try to get a pick of one of the screws to post tonight.

Yes, that's the kit I have and it's worked for everything I've come across. Please post a pic of the actual screw when you get a chance.

Here's a pic of the screws, I hope it's clear enough for a good look.

Looks like the same screws Nintendo uses on their systems (SNES, N64 & GameCube). You should be able to buy that bit somewhere online.

TG16 uses one just like that as well, if you're on the South Shore I'll let you borrow mine.

I'm in the western burbs of Boston, so I'm a little out of your neighborhood. Thanks much for the offer, though!

I'll end up getting my own now that I have a better idea what I am looking for. I get the feeling I'll need it.
