Man, there were some deep discussions on how to make GNPK happy. When you do the correct things to make him happy, he goes off to work on your NeoGeo cartridge and unlocks games. When you make him sad, he goes off and kicks rocks. Strangely he does his work behind the batteries.

Anyway, this is indeed a gem and when you unlock all the games you'll be amazed at how advanced they are. You start off with old, Atari-like pong games and slowly advance through the years until the last game is like Virtual On. There are lotsa great games in between like their take on 8-bit graphics and even a Star Wars Vector graphics game that is 3D!

Anyway, we never found a perfect formula for making him happy. It depends on what he is doing. For instance, I found I could get him to work by pressing left each time he pulled his springs or did exercise. This usually worked when he was on the phone too. But dropping stuff on his head or waking him up with intrusive guests makes him sad. I use guests when he looks bored or doesn't have an activity.

Remember to save the games once you unlock them. It took me a few months but I finally got all 30 games unlocked. Beating them is another question entirely!

It's weird, but I kept tapping right and he eventually went through a few animations and went to work. Good luck!

This game is so great. I really think it's one of my favorites on NGPC. I've logged many hours on it and I still see new animations that keep me laughing.

As for the play mechanics, there really is no rhyme or reason to it as Comic-Kaze more or less pointed out. There is however a nice little FAQ written by substance J over at S:NGP. Definitely worth a read.
