Well, here's an idea.

We have AES, MVS, and CD price guides.

We have constant questions on the forum about going rates for games.

Should we/someone start a price guide for the Pocket? Games and systems? Who would maintain it?

Ideas, suggestions?

I have no opinion on the matter, in fact I may even support it if it will help me acquire some hard to find games ^_^

I think it's reasonable to do it. I never understood the "I don't want to know the going price" thing. I think it's beneficial to us to know the going prices so we know good deals and have a gauge for trading/buying/selling. You don't see the AES/MVS/CD folks complaining about the price guides.
Remember, it's a "guide", not meant to "set" the price, just report it.

LOL...Actually there is a MAJOR AES price guide dispute right now... People think FTL is biased toward English games.

Anyway, if any body wants to help me with it, we could get something started...

However, I'm not sure I would want it associated with neo-geo.com...that starts too many problems.

Email me if you're interested people.

I'm in.
The only problem with hosting the list on either Neo-Geo or "Neo Pocket Plus" is the potential bias some people may think exists. But where else could it be hosted?

I have no desire to host it whatsoever.

Maybe the fine people at sector:ngpc?

Hi all,

I find a good idea a NGP price guide and I think it could be hosted here at neo-geo.com.

I will speak with Shawn about that and if you agree with that some of you can make and then keep updated the price guide.

When 2 or 3 of you are ready to set up a price guide, just let me know and we go from there.

If we put up the neo geo pocket porice guide here at neo-geo.com,a lot of people will see it so it will get great attention.

Count me in on that. As a long time collector, gamer of the NGPC I should be able to help. I do think it's worth tracking the prices of the various consoles (slimlines, UK, jap "white box", US, Hanshin, Tactics Ogre box set, etc.). Even the different colors have varied prices with the different ones.

In light of the recent glut of cart-only games, that may be interesting to include.

I have some historical data points too, as far as the prices. I have some prices that I paid for all the games from the past year and longer. That might be interesting to track, although complicated.

We would need sources for the prices other than just eBay. Tracking the Selling forum here at Neo-Geo is a good idea as well.

And considering the fact that I watch EVERY ngpc auction on ebay, it wouldn't be too hard to make an "average price"... And maybe update it once a month.

FTL, you contact us ;-P. We are ready anytime.

I already replied to PM.

Please make up the guide for jap and US/UK games and when you have it,the new page should be up with the guide since Shawn has to set it up.

But when the page is set up,your quotes will be ready to be filled in.

Would be better to limit to 2 persons the power to work on the guide having the ability to change quotes.

The persons working on updating the guide must have Front Page as a tool to work with.

Well, I don't have Front Page as far as I know, but I can help with the data. What do you mean "tool"?

I think you can get Front Page very easy if you will be one of the 2 working on the guide.
Tool,I meant to say as the means to work on the guide.

I am gathering massive amounts of data as we speak...

Anybody that has anything to contribute, email it to me, I'm compiling it in frontpage.
