Which do you prefer: Old or new style sticks, or the CD pad?

Personally, I prefer the pad for everything except maybe fighters. I just need a good D-pad in my hand for shmups. I still can't get used to playing platformers with the stick either.

I prefer the old style stick for fighters.

I prefer the new style joystick for platformers and button mashers. For some reason I can jam the buttons faster on the new stick. I really would like to get a stick with turbo. Turbo would rule on Metal Slug.

I don't like the pad at all.

When playing stuff like Raguy I want the Neo:Geo CD controller... but for everything else it's gotta' be the original Arcade Stick!

Old style stick, apart from viewpoint, man I can't get anywhere on that with a stick, but with an ngcd pad I can get to level 3.

As for using pads modded from other machines, sure, why not, but if I was playing kof98 against them, they're gonna use a stick. no unfair advantages then.

I dont see why anyone would want to use another consoles controller anyway.. I'd prefer to play on the machines original controller (old skool stick)

I prefer the old style stick for fighters. There is nothing better for KOF games. Now I have to get someone to wire up my Mas stick to my Neo, that will be cool.

i prefer the cd pads overall for fighters but they wear down to fast but i my secound is the old style joysticks but maybe it is just me but i think the joystick is too short to preform the moves on fighters it would be nice if you could change out the the actual stick in the old style joystick that would be nice.

I use the CD pads, I can't pull off some of the moves with the stick. The Move hit the nail right on the head, though. The Saturn pad is the way to go. :D

I've been using the "old style" joysticks for so long that even attempting to play Neo-Geo games with the CD system pads just feels terribly wrong.

The controller pro is actually pretty good, nice big buttons, and even though the joystick is loud (and too short), it's also nice and tight and the diagonals are very clear cut, which is a plus when you're playing a game that requires precise joystick motions, like the KOFs.

If you ever get the chance to pick up a good condition controller pro cheap, try it, you might like it.

Gotta be Old style stick. However, if i'm playing MD3 i'll break out the pads. I've managed to collect at least one of each. 1 oldstyle, 1 newstyle, 2 pads.

Still hard to believe my oldstyle still works after all these years...

Hmm... I've got the old style, new style and pad at home.

The pad is pretty decent, but I can't seem to bring myself to use it for any fighters. I think the feel and button configuration doesn't really work all that great.

The new style (kidnea bean) sticks have bigger buttons, but a stubbier stick. I prefer the new style when I've got to pound buttons but the old style sticks seem better when control plays a bigger role.

I perfer the Hori Neo Fighting stick, it is just so well built, plus the auto fire option is great for the shoot em ups when feeling lazy.
Unite2K (Cerdic) let e know if youdo not have any luck with so leads for the Neo as I may have a couple spare. <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" /> :D <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" /> :D <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" />
