O.K, I know I'm a newbie to this board, but I'm quite an avid NGPC fan, and I need the answer to this question..
(I've looked in all the pages, and nothing like this has come up.... :) ) When the watch battery inside runs out, will ALL your data on your games be deleted, or just the Clock Memory?
(Something similar happened with my Sega Saturn! The Horror! )

Thanks in Advance!

I think only only the clock memory will be deleted.
Game data is usually saved in the cartridge itself.

*Breathes a sigh of relief* Thanks! That was actually quite a speedy response, Thank you!

(At least I won't have to go through The Sega Saturn Deletion again... )

Once again, Thanks.

Thats correct my subbattery is dead and I got all my data only not the hours I played. Only problem is that I got to fix the game setup everytime, thats all. I know that sucks with the saturn. Hope it won't happen to me someday. I just save the data everytime and put it on the internal memory however you call it...

I under the impression that as long as one set of battery's is still going you still keep your save games and stuff...like, one battery takes over when the other dies so that you've always got power to keep the memory..
When my Lithium battery died I didn't loose any of the info such as my birthday and stuff...but i haven't got any games that tell you when you saved your game and stuff...

I dont know if this helps or not...

I haven't seen the backup battery die in my pockets yet, like porl" says this is most likley because I always keep fresh main cells in them.

I do however lose the data in the 'bios' when R2 crashes my euro NGPC every now and then...

As has already ben said, one GOOD set of batteries in your NGPC will hold the important save data.
The only thing I can add, is that the main drain on the sub battery is using the "resume save" option that games like turf masters have.
Using it regualarly, or for a prolonged period of time will severely shorten the CR2032's life.
