Help with counters in Card Fighters Clash

Hey folks, I'd appreciate some help from you Card Fighters experts...

This is something I can't get my head around:

When an the CPU does a joint attack against me, and I defend with a chara, and my chara beats the first CPU card, one of two things happen:

1) My chara will then go on to attack the second CPU card.

2) There is no second battle, and the second CPU chara gets a free hit on me without opposition.

How do I predict what the will happen after the first of the two joint attacks? It seems pretty random as to whether my winning chara will go up against the second CPU chara.

This isn't the clearest explanation perhaps, but any help would be appreciated...

Nothing is random, it's always the same...
Let's say he has 2 400 BP cards, and that he does a united attack... If you got a 500 BP card to defend, you'll get 300 BP in the face...
That's all.

I haven't found this to be the case mate. Let me try and give you an example:

The CPU attacks with 2 400 BP cards. I have a
500 BP card to defend. I can eliminate his first card, and still have 100 BP left. Here is where I am having problems:

Sometimes, the battle will go on - my remaining card has 100 BP left, and will take this from the second CPU 400 BP card. This means that I will receive 300 HP damage, as the CPU card has 300 BP remaining. My defending card is eliminated in this instance.

At other times, there will be no battle between my card with 100 BP left and the second 400 BP CPU card. This means that I will take 400 HP damage, and the remaining CPU card will still have 400 BP left. My defending card remains in the ring with 100 BP left.

I can't work out the conditions for the above scenarios happening.

Also - what difference does the original positioning of cards make to the battle?

That never happened to me.

By the way, the position of your cards doesn't matter in CFC 1, although it does in CFC 2.
But since the IA is kinda shit in CFC 1, by placing your cards a certain way you can take advantage of the comp's stupidity.

Thanks for the quick replies Stifu! I'll keep on looking at this - it's pretty odd. I'll also keep an eye out for CFC2, sounds cool.

You might need to clean your cart, I don't know.

Before, sometime the graphics of a card in the game would get messed up because of that...
But I never had this problem again after having cleaned the cart.

Wow, that is quite odd. I have logged about 140 hours on CFC now (more everyday) and I have never had that happen??!!!WTF? That is some strange shit man loco

Hmm...this is weird. I haven't played the game in a while though so I not sure if I can help much. I'm guessing it could be an effect on your remaining card that doesn't allow to counter two cards (I doubt that), or the CPU cards has an effect on their card that bypasses your remaining defender to attack you directly (the more logical guess).

This is the only thing I could think of right now. I should fire that game up just to see if that happens to me.

Well, since posting last night it's certainly happened again more than once (where there is no second battle, and my defender has returned to the ring, leaving the second joint attacker to get a full hit in). Curioser and curioser...

You can use the card of Shigen if you want, it stops all union attacks...

Anyway, there's no card with a special skill that would make such a thing happen...
PLUS if you guys knew your stuff, all special skills are cancelled when making an united attack.

I'm going to play my Capcom edition of the game to see if the same thing happens (got both games together, only played the SNK version so far). I'll let you know...

Makoto also stops union attacks.

Indeed, forgot about him, but I'd rather use Shigen myself... (has more BP, although gives less SP)

OK - quick update: The very first battle in the Capcom edition - I was defending a union attack with Batsu, and it happened again: only defended the first attacker, not the second...

Maybe it wasn't an union attack, just 2 cards attacking separately ?
Or maybe your console is fucked up. :p

How do 2 cards attack separately Stifu? I thought that only one card can attack per turn, unless a union attack is used?

Ooops. Just worked out how to do make 2 cards attack separately, and how to defend this with two cards.

Thanks for the help everyone - I'm going to go now, in a rather sheepish manner...
