I got both , smaller jap and US ,
Well to tell you the truth my jap smaller one sits in the box because it looks so cool I don't want to scratch it . So I just play my US one because if it gets scratched up or brakes Its easy to find another just like it .
I think the Japanese slimmer one looks way cooler

nothing really special, one is thinner than the other, that's all.
I feel the slimline is a better design.
The screen is positioned closer to the plastic that covers it, making it clearer and brighter.
As the screen is set back a couple of millimetres, this makes it harder to scratch.
The more rounded feel is more comfortable over extended periods.
When I first examined my slimline, I did feel that that the build felt a little cheaper.
If you have REALLY REALLY big hands, the older version may be slightly more comfortable.
I still maintain, although I’d never bother turning it on, the b&w NGP is the coolest to look at.

the clear one is a good choice. You get to see how the circuts are used to make the game work.
