Why are there so many auctions of incomplete games on ebay?

There's tons of games being sold on ebay by
Videogameswholesale, with no box or instructions
why?

Maybe SNKNEOGEOUSACTH can answer the question?

It all appears to be recalled stuff that never saw packaging and was sitting in a warehouse. Guess those warehouses had to be emptied, so now the market is flooded with these carts.

At least, that's how I understand it.

For some reason I thought they were
selling bootlegs, is not like I would buy
an incomplete game anyway.

Thanks for the replies though.

I dunno about you other guys, but I'm tired of wading through 50 listings of Neo Geo Pocket Color games with neither box nor instruction. Plus they are usually listed with caps on, gives me a headache from looking at them.

Interesting aftershock is complete games seem to be commanding much more after the flood of cartridge only games on eBay, notable example being Gatchman's Gals Fighters.

And I was actually hoping it would have the opposite effect. Oh well... guess I'll keep waiting it out for the market price to dip back down (if it ever does). frown

I bought the Complete UK Last Blade that he had up for auction, and he is a great seller (2 day shipping!). I think the influx of these damn cart only games has frustrated the collectors and made them more anxious to buy so they don't have to keep sifting throught the mess, and consequently is driving the prices up.

I have a feeling this stuff is just going to get relisted over and over and over and...

They're not selling and it's basically junking up the NGP listings. I don't even bother looking for stuff on their any more. I'll wait until it clears out.

It's true, for some games the prices are very affordable, but for the more common ones the prices are ludicrously similar to one that's complete. I think it's a great boon for gamers that aren't looking for complete items, but at the same time you're looking at a lot of Neo Geo Pocket gamers overpaying for some games that could have been gotten for much less.

I have noticed lots of unboxed NGPC games on Ebay.com and the only explanation I can think of is bootleg copies from Hong Kong.

Printing packaging and instruction leaflets is a very costly excercise especially in small batches. The qaulity of which would be suspect to say the least and therefore easily spotted as inferior quality to the real thing.

Whereas.
Burning a ROM Card and printing the label for the front can be done for as little as 35.00 HKD Hong Kong Dollars = 2.86GBP. I don't think I'm wrong either. :)

Maybe you should try reading some of the other posts on this topic, as we have already reached a conclusion on their authenticity.

I don't trust the authenticity of them much myself.

But they're cheap, which is good. Just worthless to us collectors.

I guess I don't see why we need to continue to question their authenticity when I have established, by talking to several people, that these are direct from snk HK..?
