Hi all,

because I want a MVS-4-25 v2 and here in Europe it's hard to get one, I decided to build my one. If someone else is also crazy enough to do this, here are the link to my blog (it's in German, but the drawings and pictures are self-explanatory).

Have fun ;)

Hi, Nice project! Where did you find the measurements for that? I could be mistaken but is that not a version 3? Also, I noticed the overlay on the control panel in the background and it looks like brand new. I've been trying to get some reproduction overlays made and I was wondering if that's new old stock, original, or did you buy it from someplace? Hey it's a great project and I'd like to see it when it's finished! One thing I've noticed about my machine is they used lots of hot melt glue in some joints. It's put on kind of sloppily if you ask me because it's running down everywhere from one of the joints.

Thank you. I Found the measurements here http://www.jakobud.com/plan.php?id=21. But I decide to make a V2 because the marquee is smaller and nicer than on a V3, so the complete drawings made by myself. You can find some pictures from v1 v2 and v3 here http://www.hardmvs.com. On EBay I found the complete joyboard incl. the overlay. But I also found some companies with reproduction overlays. I will publish pictures after finishing my MVS.
I don't use hot melt glue until now, hope I don't need it.

Thx for your reply!

Oh I see, you took the measurements but just left out the extra bit on top of the V3 where the speakers are located. Well I'd definitely be interested in seeing it when it's done. Would it be worth the trouble to have an english version of your blog? Are you going to paint the sides or try to find vinyl that matches the lower upper sides? What companies have you found that sell reproduction overlays? The only other business I know of is arcadeoverlays.com. I wish someone sold the side vinyl because mine could use some new vinyl. The logos are a bit scuffed up. I haven't started researching vinyls yet and that's my next project when and if I get the overlays finally how they should be done.

Great looking project! Looks like it's off to a nice start, and I have to give props to anyone dedicated enough to build one of these cabs from scratch.

If you need any measurements, feel free to ask as I have a Rev. 2 and I can gladly help out.

@Kiselgof: Thank you for the praise. Could you please make as many pictures as possible from the inside (especially back side below monitor and front side under joyboard and behind the marquee)?

Could you please check part number 1 roughly on my drawing, because this was modified from v3 to v2 and also adapted to fit my 26" Monitor (I didn't find any new 25"). And it was impossible to find any v2 drawing...

@Genjuro: I will translate to english as soon as possible, promised :D
I will paint it because I found the color code from the red color. I ordered the decals here, looking like the original (side art = 6 pieces set!!!):

PS: I made my own nameplate (see Blog) with GIMP and paid 20EUR for professional printing. But it was worth it...

Looks nice, your German kind of got the best of you when designing one of the stickers though; "SNK CORPORATION OF AMERIKA".

Where did you get the control panel? Salvaged? or do you know someone who can do the metal fab?
