I recently saw KoF 95' for Gameboy; does anyone know if this game is like KoF R1/2? Also, is it rare at all? From the cover, it looks like the entire cast except the Korea Team is in.

I actually own that. It's by Takara, and basically a version of KOF '95, with Saisyu and Rugal as the end bosses. It doesn't have full teams, just selections, the lone exception being the Rival Team (Iori, Billy Eiji). The fighters are: Kyo, Benimaru, Terry, Joe, Ryo, Billy, Kensu, Yuri, Mai, Athena, Eiji, Heidern, Ralf, Kim and Iori. The sprites are not comparable to the NGP/NGPC in ANY way, and the gameplay is crap. All in all, a horrible port, IMO. Get it only if you want to fill out your KOF collection.

Found a site with screenshots. Man, ugly is an understatement. Thank god there are King of Fighters R-1 and R-2 for the Neo Geo Pocket Color.

Which reminds me, I was reading an IGN article comparing the Neo Geo Pocket Color to the Gameboy Color, and it said it was in every way inferior, like what the hell? If the Gameboy Color was so great and had a palette of 32,000, how come the graphics for Gameboy always looked so anorexic? Everytime I play my Neo Geo Pocket Color I still marvel at how amazingly beautiful the graphics are.

He hit the nail right on the head.

One glimpse at the "sprites" (it's not fair to even call them sprites) and you will laugh your ass off.

95 was pretty poor on gb.
takara did develop 96 on gb which is actually
pretty good especially compared to 95 and
taken the consideration that its a gb game.
it bridged the gap to r1 that was 97 and r2 that was 98.
and then onto ex on gba (99) and ex2 (00)
