no , it's legit. You can also get a samurai spirits b/w in english too. I was bidding on them from some guy in france, but was outbid at the end.

edit: found one up for auction.

I think kof R-1 isn't realy an UK version, maybe US or honk kong. But they are real! ask phoenix down or the others menbers with which I did business before!
they will confirm you that the game is real and it's in fill english, with english manual...

See, these games were programmed to play in both english and japanese, so that was never an issue.

It's about the games being sold as UK versions.

I just don't see how these releases are valid seeing as they appeared out of nowhere.

No offense to you Cresus, I just want to know the truth about these carts. They're looking like Euro Kizuna encounters to me - a few carts that one seller repackaged, ala NGF, to look official, and sold them as such.

Times like this I wish that SNK was still around to answer questions.

I sure they are official because the shop bought it directly from SNK's factory.
I'm sure of that.
think what you whant, but a lot of ngpc masters will be able to confirm you what I saied

Evil wasabi: Take a chill pill. These are official, and were also sold in the USA direct from SNK and once the colour system was released, all black and white copies were made availible to all major distributors.

There are other sellers besides cre$u$ (even some german sellers) that are selling these angry

I bought 2 from cre$u$ and they both look pretty authentic to me. Personally I'm very happy with the game. :D

As far as what territory they're from I'm not sure but the "warning" info is in several languages just like any other UK game and the manual is indeed in English.

Yeah, SNK USA sold B&W consoles and games direct before the colour got a retail release.

They may well have just been distributing Asian games. The box is identical to the Japanese one but translated - like Asian titles (which also have SNK's address in Osaka on the back).

Okay then. Man. I had my B&W games bought in Japan back in '98 before they were released here. I guess I didn't keep up with what was available stateside.

yes!
It is in B&W but the story is the same thans kof 97' (orochi battle). In kof R-2 the story is realy bad (why is there orochi leona, orochi chis.... spock loco )
the move are more fluid.
in kof R-2, there is no details in the background...
the game is buged (for ex, computer doesn't move before you kick it once times...)
there is a lot of ex like these.

So.... hang on a minute and please forgive me for being thick (again), but....

Is the UK version of this particularly rare?? I picked it up some time ago in CEX for about £15 and instantly liked in more than R2.

Yup, I think so. The KOF-R1 I have is in a clamshell with an english cover and insert. NEOP0001 with an Osaka address on the back. These things don't cost much, but it IS a cool game. Even better than R2 in some respects (more story, less bugs, orochi characters).

I'd think most people would scream MotM at you, but Gal Fighters is a pretty good runner-up. And if you look at last blade, it definitely could place up there for someone. Other than that, maybe KoF R-1/R-2 to some people. Some people like R-1 more than R-2, so I guess it might be there for someone. SS1 is actually pretty cool, and it uses the ngpc's internal clock, and SS2 is actually pretty good. Other than that, Fatal Fury deserves a semi-honorable mention for a good game, but absolutely no presentation/extras at all.
