Hi There,

I'm quite a newbie in all the arcade, jamma & PCB thing and have some newbie questions. I've been told I could find some help in these forums, so here I go!
I recently purchased a MVS system, but unfortunately it's US version, so I get censored games, and more unfortunately, it's a MC1C so the Bios is soldered. I would like to have the universe bios in it, but I've heard is something complicated in a MV1C. Is there anyone that sells the universe bios in a MV1C bios-size chip? or is there any adaptor available? Or else, is there any online guide that explains how to do it yourself?
I would like to know also if it's possible to add a memory card slot to the MV1C and if so, where can I find the necessary hardware.
To end, just a question con CPS2 suicide. If CPS2 batteries just last for 5-6 years, if I buy now an old CPS2 game (let's say from '94) which is fully working, does this mean that the battery has been already changed sometime before? Or is just that the game is just about to suicide?

Thanks for the help!!

I think it's not possible to add a memory card reader on the mv-1c.
Get mor info on this site:
<a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">www.hardmvs.com</a>
You can unsolder the bios and use wires to connect a DIP support, if the mv1-c is not in DIP.
(don't know exactly what kind of bios on the 1C because i have a 4slot)
You can change the suicide battery, it's sure.
hope it helped you.

All of the original batteries that I have seen look like the one in this picture (Maxell brand):

I believe that the 5-6 year time is for batteries in games that are never used. I just chaged an original battery in a Darkstalkers board and that game is from 1994. The battery was still good.

From the information I have gathered, the more a game is ran, the longer the batrery will last.

But yes, if you get a board and are not certain if that battery has been changed it's wise to change it. This will apply to almost every game now, because I believe the last CPS2 game was released in 2000.

I'd buy that 1C off you or possibly trade for a 1FZ, if you want.
