Can a fellow owner of Sega’s STV motherboard tell me if the tiny surface mounted resistor just left of the primary cart slot (if holding it with JAMMA edge connector at the bottom)next to the electrolytic cap is brown or black? I'm repairing my board at the moment as it’s been smashed off. It would be really helpful if someone could actually measure the resistance for me to be a little more exacting!! There’s only the one in the immediate area so it’s easy to spot.

Thanks in advance! glee

Howdy,
Mine reads 250 Ohms. You might want to also want to get another reading from someone else to verify this.

How in the hell did a surface mounted res. come off?

Thanks for that neo-geo 2. I actually bought the board as 'unknown, untested and sold as is', but I recognised it and took a gamble and essentially it works fine. I can't test it with a game cart yet but all the ROM and RAM checks out in the diagnostics. I've had to replace an interesting looking gold cap near the backup battery and it looks like it's taken a knock near the cart slot and chipped off the resistor in question. Other than this it's pretty clean!!

Thanks again glee
