Never thought I'd ask this... is it a boot?

Yes. Unless someone says otherwise.

Copy and paste to browser most likely, as I don't think the pic will show.

Edit Note: It's in a clear case. I think that's odd because I don't believe I've noticed Metal Slug games in Clear cases before. Oh, and I think a pic of a Metal Slug cart just like mine popped up here not too long ago. Don't remember what was said about it...

Yeah, the chips don't have the right sequence numbers on them, and the little jumper wire doohickey is a bit quirkey too. I guess this was a good thread to document another boot, though.

I sent you a bunch of pics of my verified real Metal Slug cart.

Will a legit/repaired legit cart ever have a wire soldered from one point to another like that?

Or is it ok to assume that any cart with a wire(s) like that is a boot?

There were two other threads in the last couple of days about the same MS boot:

Some official carts have wires, but it is rare. You will find a wire in FF3 MVS and some versions of MOTW. Also repaired carts like my original KOF95 (I have two versions one repaired by SNK one original non-repaired) has a single wire in it...
