I help out all the time in the tech forums, and now I need some help. ;)

I'd like to play a Konami PCB on my computer monitor, and use an XRGB-2 to do that. My question is, how would this be achieved if I were to buy one?

I mean, I've never hooked up to anything other than a supergun, so I'm a little clueless.

A XRGB-2 upscan got input for S-video, 21-pin Japanese RGB cable, composite and component.

Depends on which video output your supergun provide. (The better video input, the better output the XRGB-2 gives.)
Just connect your supergun to the (Video input)XRGB-2 upscan, the Monitor cable connect to XRGB-2 upscan(Video output).

Check also if the Konami PCB is Jamma compatiable?
older games such as Ninja Turtle are Jamma and can connect directly to super gun via Jamma harness.
and also the Resolution the PCB require, Medium or standard.
Some games cannot work on VGA monitor, even with XRGB-2 upscan.

For my case, I use SIGMA 7000 to play shooting games on my LCD monitor via X-RGB-2 upscan.
Can turn my LCD vertical like Arcade monitior and using 21 pin RGB cable, the Results is so good!!

It's full Jamma compatible. Can you tell me how you'd hook it up to the XRGB2 unit? That's the part I'm confused about.

GI Joe arcade. Just found out it's 4 players too.

Looks like it'll be fine time to mod some controllers for it.

You know... It's 2 buttons... I might use NES pads!

Ok, I think pictures speak better than words.
<a href="http://deffty1.tripod.com/xrgb.html" target="_blank">Linky</a>

1)The back of a XRGB-2, got S-video, composite input and also the 2 different pins for Pc monitor, 1 for standard monitor and the other for Amiga monitor.

2)Front got the 21-pin RGB Japan which I use, and some other configuration buttons (For gamma, scan line and bright/contrast control)

3)Connect your Supergun to the upscan, same as connect to TV via S-video, compostie or 21-pin RGB.

4)Connect to PC monitor via monitor cable.

Forgot you need to connect RCA stereo to have sound or speaker/ear phones to the line-in jacks.

Gotcha. So the supergun is supposed to output the RGB. Cool enough.

Does the XRGB2 come with that RGB cable?

No, You need to buy the RGB cable yourself.
I build my RGB 21-pin cable by modifing Neo geo one.
They are about the same.

And also not all supergun output RGB,
Like the HGA(piece of shit), it only output S-video and composite.
I think Super Nova also output RGB by scart.
Not sure for the rest.
Sigma is still the best as it output all composite, scart,(RGG) and S-video and the quality is top-notch.

Here in Europe our TVs accept RGB directly through a 21 pin scart lead (euroconnector), so you can directly wire the video output from the JAMMA board to a scart lead. No need for any other video output in a supergun, nor a expensive and shitty convertor.

Yup. Europe rulez.

To the point: Joshua, you need to wire the JAP RGB 21 pin connector up. You need R/G/B, ground & Sync only. this means soldering 5 wires to the correct pins on the jamma female edge connector. I advise against soldering on the jamma board connector itself.

This will take care of the video.

For the power, you need +5, +12 and possibly -5 as well as ground. You could use a real arcade supply, or a pc power supply.

My harness looks like this:

The white plug is for the pc power supply, the black/silver plug is for my scart/extension cable.
