I've got this stick recently and have no idea what mod this is...
It has a monaural plug sticking out of the back.

Weird mod, looks like for an external A button.

Who knows what it was for but now you need to build yourself a footpedal that initiates autofire on the A button just to make the stick complete.

I take it you got it from a shop and cannot just ask the guy you bought it from...?

Yeah, I was thinking maybe it could be autofire...
I got this from an used hardware shop here in Japan, so the guy that sold me this item probably has no idea what it is.
