How do you get to the test screen to test your controller on the neogeo cart system?

I think you hold all four buttons down on the first control (maybe the second, it's been a while) then turn on the system.

Give that a shot,

Insert a game cart, turn on your Neo Geo, depress and hold the four buttons at the same time, reset the Neo Geo and you should be getting into the setting screen.

holding down the first sticks set of buttons will bring up the memory card management menu, holding down the second sticks buttons will bring up the stick test screen.
