When I play my AES it displays some weird things. This seen on both of my games. In Samurai Shodown 2 Galford and Hanzo's arm are rainbow colored stripes and in KOF 2000 when the life bars go down and the box with the winning quotes you can see rainbow stripes. Is there something wrong with the system or the cords?

There is nothing wrong with your system and you don't need to clean it. These common slight Rainbow colors happen on my games also. It's just how SNK programmed the color pallette. I had thought it was a glitch but when you said that the mesh on Hanzo's arms were also doing it, I knew that it was nothing.

That color thing is just there so don't worry about it. You just have the same thing all of us have. It was SNK who did that and the only way I could say you could 'Fix' that is get a real high quality monitor with RGB support. You'd still see those colors but they would not be so noticable... <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I have noticed this too and it also has something to do with the board revision you are using. Out of all the systems I have owned I have noticed this problem more apparent on some of the older systems that I have had and less apparent on some of the newer (higher s/n) systems. Hope this sheds some light on the subject.

its just the really bad video quality that an aes outputs. it really shouldnt be there, but it is. i bet if you get an s-video mod you dont see it, but im not sure. i know with rgb you wont see it.

I am using an AV cord will a RF unit help? Also I noticed when playing KOF 2000 white lines appear across the screen for certain things such as moving the controller up,down, etc.,picking a striker, entering initials, or picking what mode I want.

If anything, an rf adapter will make things look even worse.

BTW

Are you able to slice people in half on your version of Samurai Showdown 2? I can't and I have the Jap version on a Jap system.

The AES system has really bad video using anything less than S-Video. It's one reason I sold mine off way back, since I got wavy lines and color bleeding using the regular composite.

Thats because the AES is just an MVS at heart, MVS games were not meant to be playing in anything other than RGB. So you can solve this by getting the AES RGB SCART cable, and getting an RGB or arcade monitor.

Or buy a neo cd unit, since that looks fine in composite.
