UGH Vertical scrolling in hori shooters pisses me off.. Border Down did that and it always makes me cry.

Wow.... game looks freakin' GORGEOUS!

Looks a bit hard to keep up with mentally - with stuff happening in 3D (seemingly) in a game that plays in 2D, I could see things getting a bit hairy

I'm not too big on euro style STGs personally, but this one does look quite beautiful, especially for a Dreamcast game.

For anyone who orders it, post impressions once you've sat down with it.

kinda miss under defeat and zero gunner 2....maybe i oughta look getting another dc

It LOOKS fantastic.

Problem is, with many of these indie DC games...there's usually a massive bug or glitch that ruins the game. I'll buy this and support them, after the real reviews pour in. Don't want another Dux incident...

Because as fun as a game can be...I'm playing a shooter to score.

Sweet mother of god does that game look sick. The boys over at Treasure would probably tip thier hat to these indie guys just at the programming talent alone.
I'm not digging the ship or bullet look at all but the way the backrounds and foregrounds are designed and animated are simply off the charts, especially for a DC game.

Damn the trailer is tempting the shit out of me. The last couple of DC games didn't really compel me but this looks incredible.

Is this still coming out?

I pre-ordered it from Red Spot last year, then whoever was pressing the GD-Roms went out of business and they missed their launch of 11/11/11. I thought Sturmwind had vaporized.

Although it is moving slow as molasses, it is still coming out. The creators of the game have a Facebook page, they are consistently posting updates and news, as of a release date, it is still TBA. Here is a link to the Facebook page:

I really hope this still comes out.

Would be a total waste to let only a few selected people see those absorbing graphics completely (I mean look at this zombie head boss, looks slick).

I know it's all about gameplay in the end but this game has the looks this is sure. Especially considering this was done by a few german guys in their freetime basically.

Are there now issues with the release? I haven't been keeping up to date with this to be honest. What have you heard?

Just got this e-mail from Redspot Games.

Dear redspotgames customers and fans

In our last newsletter we have talked about the evaluation of the Sturmwind test CD-ROMs. These have been completed by now. Like we have thought due to our experience, the first run won't be the final run.

Compatibility issues occurred that made it impossible for us to continue with the production. It's the first Dreamcast project we're realizing with this new CD-ROM facility and the first Dreamcast project for them in general.

Good news are: We have worked on an update, which the CD factory has received in the meanwhile. They will work hard between the Christmas holidays to manufacture a new set of test CD-ROMs. We also will invest extra work during the holidays. Things are looking good.

As always: We will keep you informed on both our Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as with this customer newsletter.
We wish you a merry Christmas, beautiful holidays with the family and thanks again - for supporting the Dreamcast scene!

Any update is better than no update, right? Glad to hear they're still working on it. Starting to wonder if it won't make it until 2014 or later though........
