I know the majority of posters on this forum are probably based in the USA but just in case any of you UK or European arcade gamers are interested, I'm organising an event called HISCORE - The UK Classic Arcade Game Tournament, which will be held at the Arcade Barn in Exeter (Devon) on the weekend of 19-20th March 2011.
The centrepiece of the event will be a Tournament played on ten games from the Barn's impressive collection, the names of which will remain secret until the day of the event and will be selected by Shaun and Aran at the venue. The tournament will be played using the same scoring mechanism as the famous Funspot tournament.
The top three ranking competitors at the end of the weekend will receive cash prizes and we will be running two 'mystery game of the day' competitions (one each day obviously!) with their own prizes.
The Arcade Barn has around 40 machines including such classics as Pac-Man, Gauntlet, Defender, Galaxian, Marble Madness and Dragon's Lair II so there will be plenty of chance to play other games as well as competing in the tournament. I also intend to get a couple of classic consoles set up for multiplayer gaming, including a Neo Geo AES.
