Is the new Universe BIOS compatible with a homecart system?

And if it is, does one just simply pull out the BIOS chip and replace with this one? or is there more involved?

no, it isn't.
and no, home machines don't have a socketed bios.

Raz said he was considering doing an AES version, but there are 2 problems:

1. The AES bios isn't socketed so replacing it is kinda hard and dangerous.

2. The AES wouldn't be able to "remember" the settings as it lacks back-up memory. A memory card could solve this though.
