NGPC clamshell release breakdown?

I've been searching the net for this but have not found anything. Can anyone give a quick run down of which NGP/NGPC games/regions got clamshell releases?

As I understand it (and I may be wrong):

-- very early US releases were clamshell, but they quickly switched to cardboard
-- All UK releases were clamshell
-- Most JPN releases were clamshell, but later releases were cardboard.


Do I have that correct?

That's true for the US games, I don't know the exact titles off the top of my head though.

That's also true for the UK stuff, all clamshells.

Not really accurate for the Japanese games. All the B&W games were clamshells and the early releases on the NGPC were too (maybe around 20), but by far the majority of them were in cardboard boxes. Then towards the end around the last 10 or so releases they switched up the cardboard boxes too so they were different than before.

I guess if I do decide to collect NGPC, I'll focus on UK releases. the clamshells are too sexy to pass up.

The clamshell cases are very nice. Sadly out of the 4 games I have I only have one clamshell case, my US KOF R-2 cart. I have a US copy of Metal Slug 1st mission and its the cardboard case... its just not the same.
